You Don’t Hate Them Enough

Quote of the Day

The media are losing their friends just as they lost viewership and readership as they stepped up bias, according to a new survey of news consumers.

Younger voters, older people, Hispanics, Republicans, independents, and even Democrats cited pro-Democratic bias in agreeing that they just can’t hate the media enough.

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets found that 49% believe news bias is getting worse, while, by a margin of 44% to 29%, likely voters agree with the statement: “No matter how much you hate the media, it’s not enough.”

Hate of media surges as Democratic bias grows

I came to hate the media back in 1997 during the I-676 fight in Washington State. Here are just a few of the reasons I came to despise them:

The media nearly ignored our 3000 person rally and gave “equal coverage” to the four counter protesters. The media used video of our assembly line making materials for doorknob hangers with a voice over saying the anti-gun people were a grassroots organization.

Things have not gotten any better. But at least the general population appears to have gotten a clue.

  1. I started hating the media in 1990 during the buildup to the Gulf War, sitting on my ship in the Gulf, watching a news brief where a reporter asked the same question three different times. He rephrased the question each time, but he was trying to find the location of a given Army or Marine Corps unit, in spite of being told each time that they wouldn’t be answering that, as it would endanger the unit.

  2. Before I retired, I had a lot of contact with the media and started hating them then. Then being 1986-2006. They were not only biased but lazy, stupid, ignorant and obsessed with sex and violence. As I gained experience, I learned how to deploy the ultimate weapon-boredom. Whenever I got a question, I would launch into and incredibly technical description of the issue. About 3 minutes in, they would remember another appointment and go away. Never lied or insulted them, just bored them.

  3. I became very suspicious as a kid watching the gun control documentary ‘The Guns of August’. Watching the gun control groups work during Reagon assassination attempt, the various school shootings and U.S. postal facilities, I noticed there was very little disguising the fact that media was steering the population to hate firearms, especially the self loading versions which drive them nuts. “weapons of war – you don’t NEED that in your home”.

So my bias goes back pretty far. I know there ARE some honest reporters out there but their publisher has no want to inform viewer – reader. They want followers – period.

  4. Regardless of how much hatred the media deserve, I refuse to hate them to the level they have richly earned. I have no desire to be consumed by hate. After all, I have to live with myself. If I allowed myself to hate to that degree, I would surely fall prey to a vicious Khan scheme.

    • Absolutely. It takes too much energy to actively hate. I know active TDS victims who spend way too much time hating on the evil fascist orange man. It consumes them and dominates their thought processes. I have no desire to waste my time and energy hating the media – although I fully recognize their status as a species of sub-beings. I have more respect for rattlesnakes and scorpions, they don’t have any evil intentions, they’re just toxic. I can’t say the same for CNN and MSNBC – they are intentionally toxic.

  5. “You don’t hate them enough.”
Ya I do, more than enough.
The real problem is that those in power don’t listen to us haters, enough. Because if they listened for hate, they would understand who is driving what on whom. And why.
We hate them plenty, but ours is an intellectual hate. Were just to civilized-a-haters for our own good is all.
Maybe if mommy understood how much they hate her, and her children, she would tell her husband to go get rid of them?
That’s when we get to the violent hate that cures problems for a while.
We just can’t internalize that the “evil empire that never ended”, hates us more. Much-much more.

  6. We don’t have “media” in the US. Haven’t for decades. They are merely the propaganda organ for the American Communist Party nee Democrats.
