For the History Books

Apparently, they can never have enough. From June 2024:

US views of government’s size, efficiency, role in regulating business | Pew Research Center

For nearly half a century, Democrats and Republicans have differed in their preferences for the size of government. Today, those differences are as wide as they have ever been:

  • Just 20% of Republicans and Republican leaners prefer a bigger government; nearly four times as many want smaller government with fewer services. Republicans’ views of the size of government have changed less than Democrats’. Still, when George W. Bush was running for reelection in 2004, roughly a third of Republicans favored a bigger government.
  • Nearly three-quarters of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (74%) favor a bigger government, providing more services. By comparison, in 2015, a smaller majority of Democrats (59%) said they preferred a bigger government.

The more government they get, the more of their party wants even more government. Without serious resistance, this rapidly ends in communism.

It must really hurt to be a communist wanting a bigger government, then have a capitalist grab a chainsaw and announce, “This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy!” Then he starts slashing and burning government programs and departments:

The communists will not accept defeat gracefully. These events are going to be in the history books.

I want my underground bunker in Idaho.

  1. Communism always was a long shot in America. We’re the decedents of people that would risk everything to be free.
Crossed oceans, hacked a civilization out of a wilderness. Fought, bled, died, and built.
That genetics has not left us. And it can’t be bred out of us. It can only be murdered.
And that was the communist’s biggest mistake in America. They tried to disarm us last, rather than first.
Even a small percentage of people with our attitude and firearms. Meant conquest by government fiat was going to be impossible. Let alone a 100 million of us saying, BFYTW.
But that won’t stop the elitist communism. Nor their useful/less idiots.
    We play for blood now.
And I have no doubt Americans are up for the fight.
Republican/democrat? Don’t matter. As you can’t unsee what we been seeing.
“I want my underground bunker in Idaho.” Not a bunker. A potato storage shed.
Sounds more farmy friendly. Even if you do have your own explosives factory. Wouldn’t want people getting ideas about ya.

    • A “Root Cellar”, then. That it’s big enough for a family of seven and several guests, and you can square dance in the main room is irrelevant her. It’s a root cellar.
If that doesn’t fly, then a storm cellar like the one Dorothy Gale didn’t make it to in time in The Wizard of Oz.
      😉

    • They did try to disarm us first way back in the 1930’s, but Congress turned their bill to ban handguns into the NFA, nearly banning machine guns and short-barreled guns with stocks, but not handguns, and rifles turned out to be politically untouchable. And they’ve been trying to ban guns one kind at a time ever since.

  2. How much do you think Government has to contract before people don-t go apeshit and burn stuff just because their guy didn’t win?
One Leftist brother and his Stalinist wife went downtown to demonstrate in January 2017 before The Evil Hitler even was sworn into office.

    • Cool, let’em have at it. They can burn all the Tesla’s they want. Burn every major city in the country.
If it ain’t worth protecting, it ain’t worth having.
America needs a spine. And communists burning and shooting shit up should help weed out the detritus.
That video clip of the guy cutting-off that gal in her Tesla and telling her she needs to sale her “nazi car.”
She should have pulled a pistol and told junior, “you either get out of the street or you will be bleeding to death in it.”
Idaho has a “stand your ground” law. They want to burn something I own?
      You’re going to get shot.
We either unapologetically testosterone f-k-up as a society, or we will get murdered by whiny bitches.
      Time to change.

  3. The inherent problem with Government is it is inefficient. You want programs to serve people, but there is actually no incentive or punishment if said programs don’t.

You don’t end up 37 Trillion dollars in debt with smaller government.
