I’m reminded of a cartoon, showing a wolf licking his chops and holding a well-chewed sheep bone, leaning against a sign “Wolf free zone”, with hundreds of bones littering the ground around him.
Respected by others with substantial variation in the kind and amount of respect given.
Whether the Eagle respects the duck is entirely dependent upon how well it satisfies its predatory meat-hunger.
Respect is overrated.
