Persistence

While looking for something else I ran across this old post of mine.

Wow. That was some good stuff, and I don’t even remember writing it.

Michael Beard, the topic of that post, died last year. As I predicted, we were more persistent than he.

  1. Interesting that in a 15-year-old blog post only two of those links to pro-gun sites led to closed sites. Wonder what the ratio is for anti-gun sites.

Maybe we can find out when we go to the national anti-gun matches. Where are they held ?

  2. Persistence is a wonderful thing. (If not for my loving wife’s, I would be very lonely.)
It can pay off in many ways.
But the parable of the unjust judge Jesus spoke about is wonderful. It might be a cautionary tell for us also. Mr. Beard saw it as an inspiration. But it’s a parable. It works on several levels.
I myself saw it as Jesus playing a joke on his heavenly father.
“If he won’t give you what you want, just nag him till he gives it to you.” At which point God doubled down on the joke and let satan crucify his son. After having his skin beat off him.
One must always be mindful before “unjust”, or “ultimate” power. The judge could have just as easily gotten rid of the widow.
    One man’s persistence is another man’s nagger…….
