Barb, her daughter, and I went sightseeing for a few days before Barb and I continued on with a cruise. We wanted to see some things before WWIII breaks out and destroys it all:
Barb commented that St. Mark’s Basilica was wallpapered in gold. This is essentially true. Each of those squares are about the size of a fingernail:
I went to Palm Sunday mass in St Marks in 2008. It is an amazing place.
Sweet! Looks like a grand time! Enjoy brother, you folks earned it!
Beautiful! And when Jesus told his disciples that the temple in Jerusalem, “There will not be one stone left upon another.” That gold was the reason. When the Romans burned the temple in the siege of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.. The gold drained into the cracks of the stone. And the Romans dug it out.
Muslims probably gonna do it again. So it’s good to go see now!
I marvel at the stonework of Europe. Nothing compares!
We had a trip to Israel and Egypt scheduled for next March, but we canceled that one yesterday.
To bad. Would love to see Israel. Not just because my Jesus was there. Masada. I hear the Roman siege ramp is still there.
And Herod employed some marvelous builders. They say a desert monsoon rainstorm can fill the water cisterns very quickly.
And would love to check the rocks used for the pyramids. Something always smelled wrong in that story.
Anyway, to bad bro. You can always buy a house boat, drop it on Dworshak, and take up fishing! (Which would probably serve you better than a bunker.)
Dworshak is an awesome lake but but the dam might be a target in some WWIII scenarios.
Could be, I would think anyone with that much explosives would find a lot juicer targets for it.
I was only thinking in terms of being able to access that much deserted territory in style and comfort. Right next to home.
Plus the bass and trout, of course!
