Seattle law enforcement in free fall

Unexpectedly:

It’s been two weeks since a 21-year-old Seattle man was arrested for allegedly stealing an unoccupied bus in Sodo and intentionally ramming numerous vehicles at high speed before crashing into a bus stop in Judkins Park on Oct. 26.

Despite a judge’s finding that the man posed a danger to the community, he was released from jail on Oct. 29 and has yet to be criminally charged. The reason? Seattle police detectives have yet to submit paperwork to support the filing of criminal charges to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The Seattle Police Department’s ongoing staffing crisis, coupled with a temporary personnel shuffle to cover for 93 officers seeking medical or religious exemptions to the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, are the apparent reasons behind the delay.

As of September, more than 300 officers had left SPD in what Diaz has called “an unprecedented exodus,” with many former officers citing lack of support from city leaders as a reason for their departure in the wake of last year’s civil rights protests and subsequent calls to defund the police. Only about 100 officers have been hired.

From Oct. 13 through Nov. 5, Diaz ordered a “stage 3 mobilization,” requiring detectives in many specialty and support units across the department to shift to patrol duties to ensure there were enough officers to respond to 911 calls, said spokesman Sgt. Randy Huserik.

It looks to me like Seattle law enforcement is in free fall. One has to wonder if it is through ignorance, stupidity and/or design. I’m inclined to believe it is by design. I find it difficult to believe people are that ignorant and/or stupid.

Prepare appropriately.

  1. Yup. Give them some credit for a modicum of intelligence. It’s intentional, and long in the planning.

It serves the forces of evil quite well, and has multiple issues to serve as cover, therefore it could be seen as downright clever. You’ll notice that a lot of the people quitting are among the more principled. That works in their favor. If I’m right, you’ll definitely see a relaxing of standards in hiring, so they’ll end up with more compliant, and even leftist-fascist-activist, replacements. They’re currently getting rid of the old guard and they’ll be replacing them with toadies. “Get their people out and our people in” as Hillary Clinton famously said. And the “Stormtroopers” of the famous story had been genetically modified to make them more controllable. Same idea. It’s been around for generations.

This is an extension of prying the “W”s off of the Whitehouse computer keyboards when G.W. Bush was coming in. They love mischief, always, but they love power even more.

How many times have we discussed the question of whether local law enforcement would go along with this or that clamp-down by government? Many times over many years, right? And some of us have concluded that local LEs could in some cases be a major problem for the powers-that-should-not-be. No doubt the evil side has been thinking along the same lines. Well, now you’re seeing the beginnings of the solution (for them) to that particular problem.

    • Spot on Lyle. I would add that getting rid of old guard, along with opening prison doors creates a crisis. ……That can only to be solved by a national police force?
Something the feds and their commie toads have been wanting for a long time.
      Were being managed to death.

    Why should they?

I’m quite serious. Why should the detectives bother, when Seattle seems hell bent on coddling criminals?

    • Kyle Rittenhouse? If police don’t stop crime, and courts don’t prosecute for crimes committed.
Then people take up guns and fight back. Which might be the intention of our overlords at this point.
But it never ends well for anyone.

  3. The left is doing all they can to dismantle the current Law Enforcement paradigm so they can replace it with a system that THEY TOTALLY CONTROL. They want ALL law enforcement to be done by THEIR brownshirt loyalist thugs.

  4. I suppose there are many, many people in Seattle that have had enough. It has been shown that making a stand and fighting back (Rittenhouse) will not be tolerated.
I suggest immigration to areas not infected by this cancer.
