Quote of the day—Leslie Jones

I love that you guys are protesting and see how quick you did it. But I’m gonna tell you, to get the fuck what you really want, we’re going to have to change the fucking system. And to change the system, we have to fucking vote,” Jones said, reflecting on her role in the 1992 Los Angeles riots and expressed admiration for protesters. “You want to burn down buildings? Burn down this fucking Constitution. And we do that by fucking lifting our voice, by fucking voting… That’s how we really show them.

Leslie Jones: ‘Burn Down This F**king Constitution’
[As one commenter said,

Should we assume that the Thirteenth Amendment is included in that conflagration?

The honesty is almost refreshing. I appreciate her giving us such clarity.—Joe]

  1. No constitution. No rules. Leslie, You sure?
My jarhead construction friend saw a guy with a anarchy symbol on his hard hat. At lunch he went over to the guy and said; You really into anarchy, no rule, bro? Ya man, came the reply. Good, said the jarhead, then I hope you really don’t like me eating your lunch. Be thankful I don’t follow you home, rape you and your wife. And steal whatever I want. Because that’s what no rules means to me. You sure that’s what you want? The look on the guy’s face was precious.
So Leslie, you sure that’s what you want? Because Leslie, at that point you look like a Liberian in need of repatriation.

  2. You start changing the Constitution, you’re going to have lots of States, Counties, and people who will opt out.

The argument previously used that it’s “settled” won’t hold water.

Things can proceed peacefully and relatively amicably, or not.

Although I would prefer the former, I expect we’ll see muscles flexed and maybe some stupidity that leads to a bloodbath.

There are people in the local next door app that are frothing at the mouth over BLM and the evil Mango Mussolini. I can see things very quickly taking a turn for the worse in short order.

  3. Sometimes, children, if they’re smart and thoughtful enough and paying attention, can learn the basics of behavior modification from a firmly delivered stern warning; other times, or with less intelligent and less thoughful children, escalation to a sound spanking is required.

Doing that at the societal level requires a bit more deliberately applied force, but it is possible to accomplish; I suspect we’re about to conduct a broad experiment on the procedure.
