Quote of the day—Winston Churchill

“Honesty is the best policy.” Several examples of this will be shown in these pages. Crafty men and statesmen will be shown misled by all their elaborate calculations. But this is the signal instance. Only twenty-two months were to pass before Stalin and the Russian nation in its scores of millions were to pay a frightful forfeit. If a Government has no moral scruples it often seems to gain great advantages and liberties of action, but “All comes out even at the end of the day, and all will come out yet more even when all the days are ended.”

Winston S. Churchill

[Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Hillary and her supporters appeared to gain great advantages from their lack of moral scruples and, in the end, those apparent advantages did not gain her the prize she so greatly desired.—Joe]

  1. Yes. The left killed the filibuster to gain a few things, now they face a R majority Senate without the filibuster to kill legislation and stop appointees they do not like. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.
And yet they never learn. They re like evil children, forever trudging the treadmill of hate, deceit, and failure, leaching off the success of others while pleading for others to be kind.

  2. Of course, they now identify presumed evil on Trump’s side. I find all the hysterics about impeachment to be quite entertaining. Whenever I confront some figuratively wild-eyed liberal on Facebook, frothing at the mouth about impeachment and ask them precisely what it is that Trump’s done that is illegal, all I get is more hysterics. “Hasn’t disclosed tax returns!” — Have YOU? It’s not required and not the law. “Constitutional rights of refugees!!” — Until the US Constitution is adopted by the UN, it only applies to the US, not foreigners. “But But But” — good luck with that impeachment.

And, of course, there’s the seemingly growing groundswell about how “When we take back Congress in the midterms!!” What – gonna make us “pay?” If you had all that presumed support, why did you lose so many seats and all those governorships?

It will be interesting to see how long they frothy-mouthed set can maintain this vitriol. They really need to pace themselves. Already on Facebook I can see that the majority of my basically-normal liberal “friends” are back to posting photos of cute animals, selfies at the restaurant, and links to recipes, after an initial flurry of indignant Occupy Democrats and similar links. Once the “resist” movement has settled down to the core element, it’ll be pretty easy to identify them, load them into the cattle cars, and send them off to the camps. All two dozen of them.

    • Well, there’s an element of truth there. While the Constitution lays out the grounds for impeachment, it leaves the entire process up to Congress. So if the House impeaches and the Senate convicts, that’s the end of the story; no one else gets to second-guess whether Congress had proper grounds for that action.
At least that’s what the Constitution says; whether the courts would comply with the plain words is a different question entirely. Usually they don’t.

  3. Winston Churchill was a big fat Liar. He murdered Joe Kennedy Jr. and the head of the Polish resistance, Skorzeny, as well as many others. He was just a lieing socialist politician no different than his contemporaries, Hitler, Roosevelt, Mussolini, Stalin or Tojo. They were all no good
