Of course you don’t believe the catastrophic blowouts depicted by Hollywood when a tire is shot. But what really happens?

I believe it was the old GECO BAT round (for Blitz Action Trauma) that was supposed to be the hot ticket for deflating tires. The cylindrical copper bullet sliced a nice caliber-diameter hole through the rubber for instant deflation, or something like that.
While the video is interesting it is NOT proof that the “hollywood” depiction is or is not accurate. Because this test did not occur under REAL WORLD CONDITIONS.
To have been an ACCURATE test the tires should ALL have been mounted on appropriately sized vehicles and the tests conducted while said vehicles were operating at HIGHWAY SPEEDS. Then and only then could the claim that such a test demonstrates how tires truly behave when shot by common calibers.
