  1. There’s something about growing old in the age of Rock and Roll…

For Xenia, Maniac is as retro for her as Rock Around the Clock was when I was her age.

  2. Aww, I love Rock Around the Clock. I don’t really listen to a lot of modern music, I mostly listen to older stuff 😛

  3. Also, Xenia told me she chose Maniac because there is something a little crazy about someone that takes a picture of herself every day for a year.

I thought it was an appropriate song for a different reason. The song is from the soundtrack of a movie about a woman that has a lot of drive and self-confidence. A very inspiring movie. I loved it and that song always brings back those feelings of inspiration and admiration for the character in the movie. I admire Xenia too.

  4. Don’t get me wrong. I’m fond of Rock Around the Clock. It just makes me smile that Johnny B. Goode is on the Voyager disk. The Retro playlist on my Zune is almost four hours long. Chock full of oldies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

The further you reach back, the more specific your choice is. For computer nerds its best fit vs. first fit. For an artist it’s a lot more complex.

Cool video. Good choice of music.
