I presume she was using a more modern definition of lollygag than that at the beginning of the 20th Century. I suppose I should confirm that.
That’s a Navy expression.

I know! After discovering what the original definition of lollygag was the entire conversation takes on a completely different meaning.
I thought it was incredibly funny. Barb was considerably less amused than me regardless of the definition used.
