I recharge the ridiculous and it just all comes out.

[We were in Ketchikan, Alaska waiting for the bus to take us to the float plane for a trip into Misty Fjords National Monument when Barb, as is typical when she is happy, spontaneously erupted with funny stuff.—Joe]
That plane ride was definitely our favorite part of a similar trip.
Aviation is definitely a crucial part of the Alaskan experience. If you’re stuck in the towns, the road infrastructure is poor enough that you just don’t see much. Plus, air gives you a much better feel of the vastness of the wilderness up there.
I’ve worked in Alaska as a geologist on several occasions – all with air support. Some of my best times ever were flying around in a helicopter in the Chugach range in the vicinity of the Bering River ice field, one of the largest in N. America.
How DARE she sit on those really short totem poles!
