Barb: She told me about her “Vertical Vixens” group of female friends. It’s a group of women, all over six feet tall, that go out together occasionally.

Joe: Would this be opposed to the “Horizontal Vixens”?

Barb: Only a guy would have that as his first thought.

Actually, that wasn’t my first thought. It was just the first thought I allowed myself to express. But correcting her on that point would not have been in my best interest.

I have “a thing” for tall women.

  1. I remember a co-worker, a lady about 6’5″. She was partial to high heels. Why not, she said — it’s not as if wearing flats would disguise her height. And it was handy to be able to stare down guys who were annoying her.
Then again, I married a wonderful lady a foot shorter than I am.

    • Barb doesn’t do well in high heels and told me about that early on. Fine with me. I find anyone, man or woman, taller than me to be intimidating. I can’t imagine what it must be like to go through life at a height where half or more of the population is taller than you.

  2. My first thought was “horizontal ‘hoes”. Probably best left un-vocalized as well.
I, too, have an eye for the tall ladies. Especially when they are supported by fine, long legs…

    • No no no. “Horizontal Honeys”. And there are any number of other nice words beginning with H you can come up with.

  3. My ex-business partner met Brigitte Nielsen once. He was tall but he described her as “Amazonian” — and I think she does wear heels.

  4. Sorry Barb, but I’m siding with Joe, horizontal vixens is how I roll.
