Maybe an exorcism ritual would just as well. Or if it's not evil spirits inhabiting the gun then maybe it's the shape of the piece of metal. Do wearing crosses or some other shape of metal ward off evil spirits? Maybe putting smiley faces on the guns would make them acceptable.
