Quote of the day—Lyle

The criminal mind is indeed terrified of the lawful, armed citizen. No one else, of course, has the slightest thing to worry about.

[This explains why so many Democrats, politicians in particular, want to ban guns. Democrats, as a group, have twice as many people in prison as all other political affiliations combined. They, for all intents and purposes, are the criminal class and rightly fear being shot by their victims.—Joe]

  1. Absol-fricking-utely. through all the bluster and bravado. It’s fear that drives them.
And juries are not so inclined to put victims of crime that defend themselves in jail. We’ll see when Kyle Rittenhouse comes up.

  2. Yup. It’s a deeply rooted, naturally engrained (and quite rational from their point of view) fear, and hatred, of the lawful citizen in general, and of the armed, lawful citizen in particular, stemming from an emotional bonding with the criminal element. They will therefore, naturally, have more compassion for the criminal shot by his intended victim than for a victim who was successfully robbed, raped or murdered.

This also explains why leftists frequently engage in the most blatantly ridiculous, anti-factual arguments, and why they de-humanize the lawful, calling them rednecks or ignorant bumpkins, and attempt to sexually shame them, etc. It’s coming from a natural enmity and hatred of their worst natural enemies: The discerning lawful, especially those discerning lawful who openly exercise individual freedom of conscience. It also explains the left’s sometimes open admiration for gangsters, which they’ve glorified in books, TV, movies, magazines, interviews and music.

To see a major source from which this has been emanating, in modern times at least (it’s a very ancient mindset), you must subject yourself to reading the full texts of the twin encyclicals, Rerum Novarum (1891) and its companion piece, Fratelli Tutti (2020). If you can stomach reading all the way through, there you will find every rationalization, pretext, and outright lie used to support what we call modern “leftism” (but it is, again, very ancient), and which has left a trail of destruction, and of blood and tears, the scope of which is almost impossible to imagine.

In between those two encyclicals is Laudato Si (2015) which, you will find, contains all the modern, political and pseudo scientific climate scare models, and all the models for “solutions” to them which the governments of the world are now, in unison, embracing.

But learning as much as possible about these things does little to suggest any kind of solution. For that you must turn to the Bible. It contains that historical narrative which the so-called “left” (but which, you will see after reading those encyclicals, is Rome) seeks to erase.

And as it so happens, like it or not, you are, in helping to expose these things, you’re complying with the apostle Paul’s enjoinment,
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. Ephesians 5:11 (most translations say “reprove”, but you get the idea)

For proper context of course you’d have to read Paul’s whole letter to the Ephesians.

  3. It’s actually worse than that. Solzhenitsyn wrote some illuminating stuff on how the totalitarian political class uses the criminal element to suppress dissent.

    • Solzhenitsyn also had some advice on what to do when the thug criminal and political class came to your house.
