  • The 2nd amendment to our nation’s constitution guarantees the individual right to keep and bear arms.
  • WSSA members have taken a firm stance on protecting this right and ensuring that no person, legally entitled to possess a firearm, realizes any pressure from laws inconsistent with the Constitution.
  • We continue to monitor this issue, both regionally and nationally and join to defeat any legislation that seeks to impair our 2nd amendment right including Amicus Briefs in support of second amendment rights in lawsuits in California, Maryland, and Colorado.

  1. Zero enforcement by county sheriffs is the best line of defense available.
    It will be interesting to see how it shakes out. If they will actually block federal enforcement, or just stand by hand wringing?
    I mean when you have the likes of David Ward in your organization? Maybe not as much spine as we would think/like?

  2. Anybody can talk a great game. I’ll believe it when I see deputies hooking up ATF and other alphabet ‘agents’ and stuffing them in the back of cruisers.

  3. Preening and posturing. EVERY “gun law” on the books at EVERY level from Federal on down to the city level are DIRECT and proven violations of the Second Amendment. And EVERY SINGLE SHERIFF who is a member of this “association” has as policy the enforcement by their deputies of all these laws. That means that this statement is simply another politically motivated lie.

    • Haven’t you heard of 2nd Amendment Sanctuary cities and counties? To the best of my knowledge they have kept their promises.
