Quote of the day—Dennis McBride

Guns have no place in shopping malls or other places in which crowds of people gather. Mayfair has a strict no-gun policy. If the shooter had complied with that policy, no one would have been hurt yesterday.

Wauwatosa Mayor: “Guns have no place in shopping malls”
[It’s as if he believes the gun caused the shooting while the human pulling the trigger was an unwilling participant.

Via Tom Greshm @Guntalk who had this to say:

New Leader in “Dumbest Statement By Elected Official” category. GFZ fail.

Yup. Incredibly dumb. At first I thought it had to be some live response to a question or something. I could see someone saying something like that while under some stress in a live situation. But no. This was a written statement released from the Mayor’s office.

The stupid, or perhaps chutzpah, really runs deep in these people.—Joe]

  1. The Mayors response is almost unbelievably stupid. If the shooter had complied with the rules…

    I think I’d like to hear this geniuses thoughts on defunding the police. That should be pretty interesting as he seems to be fixated on “rules” and therefore would likely seem to be a proponent of a robust police presence, to enforce “the rules”.

    Once again in the words of Bugs Bunny;

    “What a maroon…”

    Jeff B.

    • You misspelled evil. We need to stop giving these people the benefit of the doubt by calling them stupid.

        • Yeah, being evil doesn’t make you immune from being stupid but evil is the key factor here. If we think they do these things because they are stupid, that is giving them the benefit of the doubt that they don’t deserve.

  2. Of course, it’s not a mis-speak – it’s how they ‘think’ along with half of the country. If the mayor had blamed the shooter he would have been called a racist and be an ex-mayor. And besides, on the plus side, it will be added to list of events that will be used to justify more gun control.

    It’s just like the masks – do something do anything so you can say you are doing something about it. And should anyone object, tell them to shut up or else. Like climate change and other policies it is settled #@$%^!

  3. The mayor’s statement is based on the entire authoritarian construct of “thou shall obey me.” Politicians and the media have bought into the notion that the people rule themselves and, in theory, hire politicians to manage the rules and journalists to report on events. In their twisted minds, however, they figure that only they have access to “the truth” and now, by extension, “science.” All of us deplorables apparently aren’t smart enough to figure things out ourselves, and when we do (landslide apparent victory for Trump) we’ve obviously got it wrong.

    They never make the connection that if one guy can disobey their edicts and carry a gun into a shopping mall, what could millions of us do when (that’s when, not if) we start to disobey their other little rules. I read that Biden wants to retroactively impose NFA regulations on semi-auto rifles, including the $200 tax. Good luck with that Slow Joe. Try that and I think you’ll see the line – in retrospect – that you should not have tried pushing beyond.

  4. This is the insanity. The Romish left is actually asking people to ponder the issue of crime in this way, “If the murderers would obey gun laws…” Can a person get any more insane than that?

    And to better illustrate the insanity being promoted as logic and virtue, we can re-word McBride’s first sentence thusly;
    “Self defense has no place in shopping malls or other places in which crowds of people gather.”

    Next time you hear a programmed, virtue-signaling leftist prattling on about “gun control” just take out all use of the word “gun” or “guns”, etc., and replace it with “self defense” or “defense of the law-abiding”, or “defense against violent criminals”, defense of life, or etc. Then you’ll have clarity. Let’s try that again, for good measure;

    “Defense of the law-abiding has no place in shopping malls or other places in which crowds of people gather.”

    And so we can distill that down just a little more, and arrive at the truth being obscuredby the lie;
    “Criminals must have free reign.”
    – or –
    “Criminal are people too, and so they deserve all the same rights as you.”. Maybe they deserve more rights, because we need to make up for all the long years we’ve been “persecuting” criminals, treating them like dirt.

    Law enforcement therefore is to be seen as “unfairly targeting criminals”, and self defense as “unjustly repelling evil”. And anyway; who are you to say what is “criminal” or not? The pope tells us that if you feel you need something which belongs to another, then it is your right, and indeed an act of justice, to take it from that person. God’s commandment, “Thou shalt not steal” is thus not only negated, but robbery is now to be seen as the virtue!

    By extension then, productivity, born of creativity, born of enthusiasm, with any expectation of reaping its benefits, is to be seen as the crime. If you build something, and you don’t expect someone else to either tear it apart or steal it, you are the criminal.

    If guns had been around when Cain murdered Able, no doubt Cain would have advocated for “gun control” just as Dennis McBride is doing.”

    As during the Dark Ages of old, once again we will see not only theft upheld as a virtue (for that’s a done deal already), but every form of injustice, cruelty and murder.

  5. Well mayor, They sure as hell do if motherf#@ka’s be shoot’in at me!
    Think he’s going to like China/Pedo Joe’s, I mean, Kamala the Enforcer’s, national no bail system?
    Hey Lyle, Think our first black female president will qualify as the, Whore of Babylon?

      • Considering how Dopey Joe has worked to enhance his family’s fortune, and seemingly will do anything for money, HE is the Whore of Babble-on!

  6. It is clear that banning guns from malls isn’t working. It appears there are people that break the law.

    Perhaps we should ban people from malls. It would be easy to enforce and shops that open up for people can easily be prosecuted which is an easy source of revenue for Plod.

    • Here in California they have done something similar to that. They’ve banned people, customers, specifically, from Restaurants. Both inside where they can eat at greater distances from one another than in an airplane, and outside, where they can eat with their food enhanced by the Automobile and Diesel exhaust.
