Quote of the day—Joe Biden

On dealing with firearms. It is irrational, with all due respect to the Governor of Texas, it is irrational what they are doing. On the very day you see a mass shooting… we are talking about loosening of access to have guns. To be able to take them into places of worship, store them in schools. I’m mean it’s absolutely irrational. It’s totally irrational.

And it’s all about special interests and it has to stop. It has to stop.

The idea that we don’t have elimination of assault type weapons, magazines that can hold multiple bullets bullets in them, is absolutely mindless. It is no violation of the Second Amendment. It’s just a bow to the special interests, the gun manufacturers, the NRA.

It’s gotta stop.

Joe Biden

[Eliminating magazines that have multiple bullets in them is not a violation of the Second Amendment? Guns for self-defense is irrational?

It’s Joe Biden that has to be stopped.

Take appropriate action.—Joe]

  1. Biden’s positions on firearms and rights clearly and simply illustrate that we as a People cannot co-exist any longer.

    Jeff B.

    • Indeed, How can we coexist? In addition to gun laws, his democrats are already working to make it illegal to use force of any kind to defend yourself or property, to defund enforcement and the prison system, to eliminate laws that are ‘unfair’ to the poor, and to allow anyone to vote.

      • All good and valid points… the future that the Democrats have for what was the United States is something that even ten years ago would have been unimaginable.

It also seems significant to me anyhow, that the number of people (on both “sides”) that consider an internal conflict to be likely has grown steadily and that suggesting or discussion that topic gets traction in the media.

  2. You’ll enjoy Matt Taibbi’s post today:

“I think we’re headed toward that vision of American democracy familiar to most of the rest of the world, where we have the freedom to vote, but only the right way. Certainly the idea that there’s more than one legitimate political choice has already been excised from most upper-class discourse, with not only Trump and the Republicans but also every actor from the Green Party to Tulsi Gabbard and Bernie Sanders denounced across the corporate press as favorites of foreign enemies.

It’s no accident the doddering Biden is the nominee. In 2016 Hillary Clinton thought her verbal mastery and nineteen-point plans would impress. In fact they frightened voters, the cool robotic delivery reminding many that she was running as the face of a vast bloodless system they’d already grown to despise. Biden’s grabby hands and nutty-gramps speeches-to-nowhere create the illusion of vulnerability and humanity, concealing the fact that what we’ll actually be doing this week is voting the empire back, only this time, it’s had four years to think about loopholes at home that need closing.

Trump’s incompetence and influence on the darkest part of the national character make it morally impossible to vote for him. But his opponents are lying, witch-hunting scum in their own right, a club of censorious bureaucrats whose instincts for democracy and free speech hover somewhere between the mid-seventies GDR and the Church of Scientology. I thought all year I’d be able to do it, but I wake up this week unable to talk myself into voting for these people, even against Trump. What choices they give us! Thank God at least it’s about to be over. If it’s about to be over. Please, let it be over.”

    • Ever is civilization tossed back and forth between the extremes.
It will only be over, when your over.
Meet the new boss! Same as the old boss! Buddy.

  3. It’s clear that gun control and communism work about as well as Gibbering Joe’s brain does. But it ain’t about Joe anymore.
He’s a rubber stamp for Obama’s fundamental transformation of America. (Anyone thinking Valarie Jarrett won’t be getting her old office back?)
We need to hold a Biden presidency as illegitimate. The man has committed proven crimes that should have put him in jail long before this election cycle. And everyone knows it.
Any power they would enforce is a usurpation. And notwithstanding under the same laws they say, give them their authority. We have no moral, legal, or other obligation to their edicts than we would if it was a El Chapo telling us what to do. Even if he were elected by popular vote.
We need to sink it in our minds that the only thing these people understand is the power that comes from the barrel of a gun. Their laws are just a moral shaming to make you feel disadvantaged. But there not laws.
The founding of this country was from an infringement on the right to bear arms.
    And from now on the 2A should be considered to read this, and only this;
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. On penalty of death or deportation to all that refuse consent.”
