Quote of the day—Robert Reich @RBReich

When this nightmare is over, we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It would erase Trump’s lies, comfort those who have been harmed by his hatefulness, and name every official, politician, executive, and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe.

[This is where our country sits. It is on the precipice of a Stalinist and/or 1984 dystopia.

Reich is not some random troll or bot. This is a Berkeley professor (no surprise), who served in the administrations of Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. He is a former Secretary of Labor and was a member of President Obama’s economic transition advisory board. He has a million Twitter followers.

Via Adam Baldwin who gives us these as the “chaser”:

Coincidently, Windy Wilson has relevant commentary on our present situation as well.

  1. I remember him and even respected him. What he is now asking for is an ideological version of the Salem witch trials to hunt down and prosecute everybody who opposes the far left.

Not only no, but hell no.

  2. I guess at this point I should not be surprised. The left is coming out as full on totalitarians and promising that they’re going to cleanse and purify society.

Of course if you’re one who, without a doubt is in need of re-education at a minimum and more likely, incarceration (or worse) you don’t take these warnings lightly.

I think the SWHTF over firearms. The left can’t have its way with an armed and surly population, so they’ll have to act on guns both big and early. Let’s agree that the “it’s for the children” argument won’t
hold much water to those who expect to be oppressed.

We’re in for a real shit show. Whether DJT wins or loses.

  3. Mr. Reich needs to rethink his words.

Helicopter rides are cheap, after all.

  4. The Adam Baldwin link says this tweet is unavailable. I guess references to 1984 go right down the memory hole.

    • Twitter says Adam Baldwin hasn’t had any activity since a retweet on June 19, 2019. This happens frequently. I think Twitter blocks him when he hits too close to a target.

      • That sounds about par for the course. I rarely look at Twitter or Facebook unless I’m following a link like this. I don’t trust either one to let me see what is going on in the world. They seem to be the Pravda and Izvestia of modern America.
