I think this was a test to see how many of us were dumb enough to let our curiosity lead us into that trap, after being told that it was a trap.

Actually, you’re being nice about it. Knew a guy back in the day that had entire servers out on the net with a variety of file names guaranteed to get a script kiddie’s attention. Depending on which set of files you tried to access you could end up with a warning notice popping up on your system to don’t do that, or, for ones involving younglings, having your system wipe itself.

Been reading Joe’s blog for 10+ years. Been to Boomershoot twice. With foreigners. They still let me naturalize as a US citizen.

With the cooperation (search warrant) of the Internet Service Provider the IP can be converted into the subscriber name. If it was someone’s home you are almost done. If it was Starbucks, then law enforcement will need store video and credit card info to, perhaps, narrow it down.
