Quote of the day—James Lindsay

The list of terms that the DIE (“Diversity,” “Inclusion,” and “Equity”) industry has manipulated into a specialist meaning that is quite different than the meanings it knows people will assume of them is now quite substantial and familiar: “racism” means “systemic racism,” which doesn’t even require a single racist person or intention, “anti-racism” is some kind of cultish commitment to a lifelong process of activism outlined by these very consultants, “hate speech” is that which disagrees with the consultants’ views of how to “help” people it has defined into perpetual “marginalization” and “oppression,” and “privilege” is whatever quasi-spiritual force that makes a white homeless drug addict whose mental illness is driving him to the brink of suicide richer than Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, and Barack Obama all put together. And even here, in the specialist jargon, is a kind of cruel and abusive manipulation: What are you, stupid? Don’t you even know the definition of “racism”?!

The Diversity Delusion
[Via daughter Jaime.

The infestation of the corporate world by those who would dictate the very thoughts we are allowed to have is increasing. We have passed through the gate into Animal Farm where some animals are more equal than other animals and just around the corner is The Gulag Archipelago.

Respond appropriately.—Joe]

  1. “Delusion” suggests that the creators of this thing are well-meaning but confused. It’s long been clear that this is not so, they are not confused and what they are doing is absolutely intentional with malice aforethought.
Al Sharpton was an early and long obvious example.

  2. I already put my VP at work on notice that this unlawful (under Seattle municiple Code) imposition of executive endorsed programs of “inclusion and equity” and “systemic racism” and “intersectionality” are creating an actionable hostile work environment for those (like myself) that will not subscribe to the underpinning political ideology.

      • Oh, I am so waiting for that sort of thing to happen right where my phone can record it. There will be nothing quite like a spittle-spraying SJW trying to browbeat me into a loyalty oath or a performative act of submission to really solidify a record of harassment, retaliation and a hostile work environment specifically emanating from the HR department.

I’m pretty much figuring that they can’t help themselves, all caught up in their purity spiral and convinced they are the holy ones. I’m just saying I’m expecting the Woke Inquisition.

        • Just remember, logic doesn’t work. You have to start crying and beg them to please quit smothering your aura!

  3. Of course I know what “racism” means.

“Racism” means, “Shut up and die already, white man!”

  4. “Anti-racism” is a codeword for antiwhite. “Racist” is a slur for insufficiently masochistic white people. “”Diversity” is a codeword for fewer white people. And don’t forget Solzhenitsyn other book. Rather instructive as to the creators of the modern newspeak.
