Quote of the day—Stephen P. Halbrook

Americans should be mindful of the dangers of “emergency” decrees. History tells us that government diktats in response to man-made and natural disasters often lead to unprecedented restrictions on individual liberty that last long after the disasters are forgotten.

Will the Second Amendment Survive Coronavirus?

  1. What survives is what fights to thrive. Without the will to not only defend, but actively push forward. Whatever your doing will fail.
We see this in the fact that the legal end of the 2A is a no-brainer. But were losing it on the culture front. Which emboldens criminal/ politicians to come against us. Even with the same legal system that tells them they can’t.
Were told violence isn’t the answer. While we watch drunks crawling down a hall way on their hands and knees begging for their life get flat out murdered. Why would anyone think they could get away with that? Drunks dying happens everyday. But what would give someone the idea that you can execute one for nothing? That’s the problem.

  2. It ain’t gonna be conservatives who help keep us out of losing our liberties, they’ll let it happen.
I’ve been seeing so many of em being 100% on board with police state actions during this whole scare. As if all you need to do is declare an emergency and they’ll sign over everything in response, all the while not thinking one iota of how their actions will affect everyone down the line. Remember 9/11? We got an expensive, invasive, and useless agency and a surveillance state that we don’t fight anymore out of the deal. Think it won’t be the same this time?
I guess liberty and freedom are truly dead, just whittling away in the face of every new fear that comes along.

  3. We have not yet seen how far the state could go. Some of the ideas coming out of the Chinese response to Wuhan take the decisions out of the hands of the patients and family – if you’re sick you are sent to forced isolation; if you need food you need papers. And Chinese ‘experts’ are saying that our lockdowns will do little to ‘flatten the curve’. They also say that Americans are not likely to accept the draconian control that they used.

So where does that leave us? My guess is that we’re following the path of Italy. And we’re going to have multiple waves of outbreaks that will stretch our capabilities to the breaking point. I’m also not sure that what our authorities will do will matter very much since they will have their hands full dealing with the crisis.

For me and our family, I’m planning on remaining in isolation and preparing for the collapse of the supply chains along with the civil unrest that will follow. Thankfully, we’re not in the urban or suburban areas and have some land.

    I hope that I’m wrong.

    • Spot on Chet. Thanks. Best to sit out until the new normal is established.
A side note. I prefer a bit of course ground mustard on my shit-sandwich. How ’bout you?

  4. The “responses” to this “crisis” make up just one little front in a global war against Judeo-Christian principles. It’s a war that’s been waging for millennia.

    Here’s just a tiny little clue as to the tactical landscape;

Notice the initial still photo; the pope and Greta Thunberg giving one another some love. That says a lot right there (it’s a signal image), but then go and read Francis’ encyclical mentioned in the vid. Then maybe you’ll begin to see where the authoritarian left has been getting a lot of its ideas.

They’re forming a single, “universal” global alliance, which will be (and is) an oppressive, fascistic power using the trappings of all the major religions, but none of the right principles. The U.S. government is all-in with it too, including both major political parties, and even the former Protestants are going all-in. There’s nothing in sight on Earth that’s going to stop it.

Their goals are too insane for us to believe that it’s actually happening, that they’re actually moving forward with it, and therefore it is practically guaranteed to succeed. In fact, people are falling all over themselves to jump on-board, for it is so “beautiful” and so “wonderful”!

This is how freedom dies; with thunderous applause.

And I’ll keep saying it until it becomes impossible for anyone to deny; What we’ve been led to think of as the “secular world” or “secular society” is not nearly so secular after all. I don’t expect you all to believe it just now, but to remember it for later, so you won’t be caught so completely in “condition white”.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, 6:12 (KJV)
