Quote of the day—Taylor Budowich @TayFromCA

How far gone is CA?

Around Xmas my GF had $5k worth of luggage stolen in Sacramento. I provided @sacsheriff w/ vid of crime & perp’s plate # (registered in Oakland).

Despite that, I was told they couldn’t do anything bc @oaklandpoliceca “doesn’t pursue property crimes.

[This is almost directly out of The Gulag Archipelago, Volume 2: An Experiment in Literary Investigation, 1918-1956. In the words of Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, the government is creating hoodlums. Read this QOTD for a sample.

As I said in the comments to the referenced QOTD:

in the USSR the political leaders openly wrote about how the thieves “were allies in the building of communism”. This was because they were the enemy of those who owned property.

I’ll have another QOTD on this topic another time but for now ponder whether our enemies of freedom came to the same conclusion as the communists of the USSR independently, through influence from them, or are only dimly stumbling into the same situation.

In parts of California, the end is near.—Joe]

  1. Optimal solutions are reinvented over and over and insanity is one of them.

    Take homelessness. The socialist need the homeless to argue that we need to strive towards their ideal of a perfectly equal society. And the more they allow them to inflict pain on our society the stronger their argument becomes. Thus they say it is not fair to charge them with ‘petty’ theft, defecating in public spaces, or other crimes.

    The same goes for gun violence. They need it so they can argue that we have to take guns away.

    Even traffic congestion is used to argue that we need their solution.

    They are not interested in solving problems. They are the ones that are creating problems so they can control us.

    And they are all for the horrors of the past. Some are even openly saying that gulags and firing squads are necessary to re-educate those of us that object to their insanity.

    I don’t see how this ends well.

    • As you just mentioned. It’s certainly not planned to end well. As we keep caring for people who couldn’t survive a normal winter on their own.
      The real problem is the we refuse to accept them at their word and act accordingly.

  2. They arrive at similar conclusions because they’re driven by the same mindset, regardless of the generation in which that mindset takes hold.

    Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, chapter 6;
    Verse 12; For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

    16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

    17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

    That has a decidedly military nature to it of course, but the armor, weapons and ammunition required for ultimate victory are not of the worldly kind to which most of us are accustomed. Says it right there in verse 17.

    • I agree. I would also add that satan changes tactics to meet his desires. Meet Joe Stalin.
      You best heed what Jesus said about saleing everything you got and arming up. Better to be cold and broke with a sword than not. If anyone would know, I pretty sure it’s him. Good luck, and we will see you on the beach!

  3. Don’t just point fingers at CA. The city of Spokane police no longer investigate property crimes either. The virus is spreading.

    • SO the question is: why is it that the out-of-power party doesn’t advertise that to the roof-tops, to show how much the other ruling party is willing to sacrifice everyone safety and the rule of law? That is a rhetorical question, of course, because the uniparty doesn’t sell out its own. They just cause and defend different problems.

      • This sort of thing is going down all over clownworld right now. (commie country).
        Think of it as diplomatic immunity for satan’s ambassadors.

        • I like that phrase – I’ll have to steal it for a book (pun intended).

          I think the biggest “feature” of this policy of non-enforcement for property crimes, as far as the left is concerned, is that it makes *selective* enforcement easier. If THEY get something taken or broken, they’ll use police and government resources to make sure YOU pay and they are made whole. But if YOU get hurt, well, that’s just unfortunate. It’s a total racket. Thus, it’s both an economic attack and a demoralization attack against their foes.

          • Deal! But if we ever end up in front of the bastard, you got to take the wrap!

    • Go ahead and point. As a Life-long resident of the “Golden State” I can say the people who voted for the people who made these laws deserve it, in the words of H.L. Mencken, Good and Hard. I’m sorry for the children and for the people who warned against this.

  4. Nothing new. I live in Florida. In the year 2000 my car was burglarized. The police knew who did it. They got his identity from the fingerprints. They told me that he would not likely face charges, because the police department did not have the resources to deal with “minor” crimes like auto burglary.

    In the year 2005, someone stole a check from my mailbox, forged my signature on it, and deposited it into their checking account. I got a copy of the check, and sure enough, there was the name, account number, and signature of the miscreant. The police again told me that they didn’t have the resources to pursue the criminal.

    On the way home, I passed 5 cops writing traffic tickets. The priority of the police has been about money for years.

    • The priorities are set by the politicians. If cops have these priorities, it must be that the majority of voters either agree with them, or don’t care.

      • No, the problem is people don’t see any practical way to fix the situation of the cops writing tickets. Really sad thing is that when I tell people that having the cops running around writing speeding tickets actually makes the roads MORE DANGEROUS, not less, their automatic response is to side with the government or accuse me of lying. The .gov’s data is where the info originates!

        EVERY TIME the police go on strike in some fashion and stop writing tickets, the accident and fatality numbers fall significantly. As soon as they return to issuing tickets, those numbers return to “normal”.

    • True, nothing new. Mid-90s in Wichita KS, my wife was mugged for her purse in broad daylight at a grocey parking lot. She got a vehicle description and the license plate, but the police wouldn’t do anything. They told her the car owner would just claim it had been stolen.

  5. We currently live in the Bay Area.
    In the last three years my wife’s car has been hit while parked on the street in front of our house.
    One woman was 74 years old and not cited by the responding police. He merely made sure that the two parties exchanged information.
    The second was a 59 year old woman with a handicap placard and the exact same thing happened.

    Hitting a parked car on a public street is not a violation of any part of the vehicle code?
    I cannot wait to get out.

    • San Jose, and probably most other Bay Area cities, no longer require the cops to respond to non-injury accidents. Insufficient manpower is cited as the reason.

      Frankly, you may be better off not having them there to write a report. CHP is touted as the most competent police force for traffic issues and other reasons, but my experience is that they have no clue about how to write a factual report. Absolutely worthless. Very slow to issue them, and they don’t bother to send copies to all the parties involved. The only way I recognized the incident reports was to check the dates, as they didn’t much match reality. And, I was working for them at the time! A complication is that they move around after bidding on better areas to work in. If they change location between the incident and receipt of report, you are screwed, as there is no way to contact them for a correction. Very annoying to be standing there in uniform at the local office, and be told I’m SOL.
