Quote of the day—Christopher Knight

“Resist!” is screamed by media personalities and celebrities and politicians who in a sane world would never win a race for city lieutenant sanitation commissioner.  They betray ignorance of what real dictatorship is, as they dare ascribe the gravitas of 1989’s righteous rebellions upon their own crusade.

When I consider Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, and Jerry Nadler maneuvering for impeachment of President Donald Trump, it is with some dark bewilderment.  They have no idea what disaster they are courting for themselves and their allies.  It will not end well for them.

Out of desperation Ceausescu promised higher salaries and student aid.  But Ceausescu had woefully mis-gauged the frustrations of the people amassed before him in Bucharest.  The moment his decades of control evaporated was chronicled on worldwide television.  Nicolai and Elena Ceausescu promptly fled the palace by helicopter and were soon captured.

December 25, 1989 was not a Merry Christmas for the Ceausescus. Found guilty by a drumhead trial of crimes against the Romanian people, Nicolai and Elena were immediately thrown against the wall – literally – and shot dead.  Images of their shattered bodies were broadcast around the globe.

So far as analogies go, the comforts and careers of the petty tyrants in Washington may soon be just as crumbled.  Our own would-be overlords would do well to be mindful of that.

  1. And yet, they still think ‘It can’t happen to US! Oh, it could happen to some podunk Romanian dictators, but not US!’.

  2. Indeed. The Ds have lost their minds. They held impeachment parties and smiled ear to ear over the prospect. They seem to think that the rule of law means whatever they want. And why not? They have been ‘winning’ for at least the last 40 years ever since I worked at Hanford.

So what and when will they get their comeuppance? Or will they be allowed to destroy what is left of this country?

  3. “December 25, 1989 was not a Merry Christmas for the Ceausescus. Found guilty by a drumhead trial of crimes against the Romanian people, Nicolai and Elena were immediately thrown against the wall – literally – and shot dead. Images of their shattered bodies were broadcast around the globe.”

I always like it when a story has a happy ending.

  4. “They have no idea what disaster they are courting for themselves and their allies.”

Or do they know it well, and are merely executing their duties faithfully, in the face of danger, like any good warrior?

Why is it that we always ascribe an implausible level of ignorance to leftist campaigns? Why do we not understand that there is real malice in the world? Why do we assume that anyone with a real brain would favor the Law of Liberty when thousands of years of history proves otherwise? Is it impossible to comprehend the notion that someone can be fully aware of the destruction they’re causing and yet go forward with it enthusiastically BECAUSE OF the destruction they’re causing?

What happened to the concept of the enemy within?

Why don’t we take the left at their word when they’ve been saying for 100 years that the founding of the U.S. needed to be undone?

As for the Ceausescu reference; is that supposed to be a deterrent to leftists? It isn’t. Good soldiers know the dangers of war, and will execute their duties in spite of it, sometimes gladly. The most extreme example is the kamikazes, but there are plenty of other, more common ones.

Good Lord God almighty; we haven’t the slightest clue, have we?

It is as though we are on the ground looking up at thousands of invading bombers darkening the sky while dropping bombs on us, and we’re shouting; “Hey, you idiots! Don’t you know the destruction you’re causing?!!!”

Yes. They know already. It’s why they spent the last 100 years building those bombers, making the bombs, learning to pilot the planes, and targeting us. See now that works?

For what cause do we insist on being in such denial? Is it to escape responsibility, or what? Would we rather seek to entertain ourselves by laughing at the left and calling them stupid than face the reality of the situation?

Also; those warnings of impromptu firing squads and the like; they serve to excite and encourage the left. It means they’re on the right track. They’ve been trying for decades to provoke wide-spread violence out of us without it seeming like their fault, and when they get that wish, they’ll be glad that it finally happened.

    • In a way, it seems to me to be similar to a child acting out. They know that the consequences of their behavior will not be pleasant but they insist on continuing the behavior because it garners attention now regardless of the consequences that will later come.

Progressives seem to follow a similar tack. Regardless of the evidence of history and the chronicled suffering associated with such philosophies, they continue on, as children do, believing that they will get what they are focused on now. Consequences be damned.

Perhaps it is time that conservatives figure out how to be the parents in society.

      • That it certainly true of the duped among the left, and I believe they represent the majority. They however are not calling the shots. Not really.

But then there are the perpetrators, the global leftist/fascist/Romish elite. They’re a different story.

        Even for the atheists out there, the story of Lucifer (now called satan, the dragon, etc.) is crucial for gaining an understanding of the situation;
Lucifer was the greatest of all the created beings in Heaven, the most powerful and highest-ranking, the most beautiful and the most intelligent. Angels being a little bit above humans, Lucifer then possessed, and presumably still possesses, super-human intelligence. God himself referred to Lucifer as “The Morning Star” and “The Light Bearer”, and used other loving terms for him, that is, until “iniquity was found in him”.

Pride, jealousy, lust for more power, those took hold of Lucifer, and they are real problems in the world today. AND…they invariably lead to malice. Violation of the Tenth Commandment leads to violation of all the others, actual knowledge, or brain capacity and functionality, notwithstanding.

And so, the point of all that is to illustrate the concept of malice aforethought being the driving force in all of the left and among their off-shoots, allies and incarnations over the millennia.

Malice aforethought, and possibly great intelligence, or extreme cleverness, at the same time; the notion of the evil genius– Are we incapable of wrapping our minds around the possibility of the very concept? Maybe even malice with greater intelligence than our own, for how clever is it that they appear to us as dumb as excrement while they manipulate us, getting us to pay their bills, and make them wealthy, even ceding to them title and stature above our own?

And also, again, I point out that surely the leftist and papist lieutenants and Jesuit generals, upper level Masons and political leaders, et al, will be pleading blind ignorance at their trials in the end. Do we want to grant them that defense before the trials have even started? Is it even within our authority to do so? Are we not missing the point, or going off on a tanget, in even discussing it?

The Lord’s Prayer says, “…forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us…” and that seems to be the result of a prior acknowledgement, which is that judgment is not ours. It also presupposes that forgiveness is conditional upon being forgiving. So there’s a lot to unpack there, and I’ve only scratched the surface.

  5. Meanwhile, the latest news is that Nancy Pelosi is going to sit on the articles of impeachment and not send them to the Senate “until she is satisfied that the Senate will hold a fair trial”.
I wonder where she found *that* in the Constitution. Oh yes, I forgot. “There’s nothing in the constitution that says the Federal government has got anything to do with most of the stuff that we do.” — James Clyburn (D-SC)

  6. Anybody who talks about the “Resistance” has no idea what he or she is talking about. All they know about “Resistance” they learned on TV from Hogan’s Heroes, or a one-season Robert-Goulet-as-Singing-Secret-Show called “Blue Light”.
As my mother said to me long ago, heroism is easy when it’s for the TV camera; it’s hard in real life.
These “Resistance” Mall Heroes have no idea what it’s like once they and their fellow travelers kick the lid off of hell and the rule of law is gone.

    • Sure. But the TV heroes are why these people have taken the label “resistance” for themselves, just as they previously appropriate labels like “liberal”, “progressive”, “social justice warrior”. All those labels are lies, deliberate lies that are a core part of their totalitarian propaganda.

  7. The fall of the deep state will occur without anyone being put up against a wall and shot, after a 30 minute trial judged by three officers. The fall of the deep state will occur as the incentives (money, influence, real power) is drained from those who have abused it for some time now and replaced with disincentives for previous behaviors (nepotism outlawed, authority restricted by legislation, dispersion of decision making from bureaucrats back to clear, simple regulations that cannot be used to abuse). It won’t be spectacular, but the Bidens and Kerrys and Clintons, and Republicans abusing the public trough, too, will see their kids having to find more honest work than intermarriage, patronage and insider dealing.

Nic and Elena got what they deserved, and thousands of others didn’t, at the end of the Cold War. At the end of the Resistance, some time in 2024’s election cycle as Pence and Cruz look to win in a landslide, Pelosi will have retired a grande dame of politics, just like Hillary, and they will still hate, hate, hate, HATE that they were crushed by the likes of Trump.
