Quote of the day—Beto O’Rourke @BetoORourke

Credit cards have enabled many of America’s mass shootings in the last decade—and with Washington unwilling to act, they need to cut off the sales of weapons of war today.

Banks and credit card companies must:

1) Refuse to take part in the sale of assault weapons.

2) Stop processing transactions for gun sales online & at gun shows without background checks.

3) Stop doing business with gun & ammo manufacturers who produce or sell assault weapons

[There are so many opportunities for snark here:

  • AR-15s are not used by any military so credit cards should be fine.
  • I guess I’ll have to save up cash for my tank.
  • Credit cards have enabled mass shooters to drive to their unarmed victims. Are you going to demand credit cards not be used to purchase gasoline, tires, and oil?
  • His ignorance/stupidity/lying is showing when he claims online sales and gun shows don’t require background checks.
  • How is this different than making it against the law for a motel to rent a room to a married gay couple?
  • I hope you enjoy your trial.

Note this was over a month ago and I haven’t heard anything about it lately. I wonder if he just moved on to confiscation when it didn’t get the traction he wanted.

His continued political career is asymptotically approaching zero unless he moves out of state or runs for city dog catcher. So all that really matters is that we record the evidence for his trial.—Joe]

  1. We live in a world where everything can be weaponized and many of these new weapons are perfectly legal and exist outside of the legal system.

Remember in the 50s and 60s you could not cuss nor show a picture of a toilet bowl on TV, but guns were everywhere. Well, today guns are the new toilet bowl.

It’s not an accident. Public attitudes are actively manipulated. And the list of weaponizable things seems to increase daily often with no recourse. The accused can lose their job, guns, home, and family.

It’s just mob enforcement outside the bounds of the legal system.

  2. Beto as dog-catcher? That’s a semi-skilled profession. Once you make congress, your done. You can’t go back to something that requires for thought and innovation.
No, after his trial he needs to be deported to Liberia. We originally set up Liberia to repatriate slaves. But I believe it would work just fine as America’s new Communist Colony.

  3. When you have demonstrated, beyond any doubt, that you are willing to deprive people of their liberty and even their ability to earn money and function in society by infringing on their enumerated rights, and once convicted of such infringements, why should you ever be allowed out of prison? But a reality check here, how can anyone reasonably expect the government to discipline itself. I don’t see how anyone who is not an agent of the government having the ability to commit an act under the color of law. How many opportunities have there been in just the past few years for such action to take place and nothing has been done. Even after a judge dismissed charges, with prejudice, no government official has been prosecuted or disciplined in any way for the Cliven Bundy fiasco. While it can make you feel like there is a possibility because the law is there, if the government chooses to ignore it, what can you do?

  4. Privatizing tyranny is much easier than actually passing legislation as private companies are privileged to do things a government would be in violation of the constitution for.

  5. Try this re-write, and see how it flies:
Credit cards Condoms have enabled many of America’s mass shootings rapes in the last decade—and with Washington unwilling to act, they need to cut off the sales of weapons of war instruments of perverted sexual domination today.

Banks and credit card companies must:

    1) Refuse to take part in the sale of assault weapons condoms.

    2) Stop processing transactions for gun condoms sales online & at gun shows orgies, schools, and San Francisco without background checks.

    3) Stop doing business with gun & ammo condom and marital aid manufacturers who produce or sell assault weapons safe sex products.

  6. Credit cards are likely a primary means of donating funds to the political parties that promote dopes like Beto. I think the use of cards for political contributions should be banned!
