Quote of the day—Kevin Martingayle

Kate expressed to her husband concerns about this individual in particular, as well as one other person. In fact, they had a discussion the night before about whether or not she should take a pistol and hide it in her handbag — and decided not to, ultimately, because there’s a policy apparently against having any kind of weapons that are concealed in the building.

‘Gun free zone’ law disarmed Virginia Beach shooting victim, attorney says
[Any employer who has a policy which disallows people from defending themselves as a condition of employment should be held at least partially responsible for the death or injury of an employee who is a victim of a violent crime where appropriate defensive action could have stopped the crime. They are creating a hazardous working environment.

How is this different than a slick floor or heavy dust in a work environment then banning appropriate shoes and breathing masks? “Gun free zones” are OSHA for violent criminals. OSHA should be leveraged for innocent victims of violent criminals.—Joe]

  1. You are 100% correct. This applies particularly to schools and school systems and every administrator and school board member should be held personally responsible.
Just think if a jury came back with a ruling similar to the one just held against Oberlin College against Sandy Hook or Virginia Tech what a ‘chilling’ effect that would have on the gun control crowd. Then we can pile on with all the civil rights violations their policies entail.

  2. “…and decided not to, ultimately, because there’s a policy apparently against having any kind of weapons that are concealed in the building.”

History may not repeat itself, but it sure does seem to rhyme a lot.

  3. Hell, tie that argument into anti’s “guns r public health issue” and you might just get somewhere.

  4. Our local schools are GFZs of course. School district just narrowly voted to keep cops, sorry, School Resource Officers, in schools. Lotsa protest that “cops in schools make our children feel unsafe”. They have metal detectors and bag searches and the kids still manage to bring in guns, so what’s the problem with one more gun in a holster? Glad I’m not in school.

    • How can “cops in schools make our children feel unsafe”?
Don’t cops come into schools as “Officer Friendly” to encourage children to find and speak to one if they become lost on the streeet? Don’t they use the image of the cop in school materials as the face of law and order and safety? This is another case of Leftists wishing to have both sides of the argument, using the blood of children sacrificed for one of their pet projects. Once government holds all the use of force in society, you can bet that the Soviet trope of the child (Pavlik Morozov) turning in the parents for some “crime against the state” (self- and family-preservation) will be taught to “our” children. Then not only police, but ARMED police will be an everyday occurrence in the schools.
