Quote of the day—Tom Knighton

This provides yet another glimpse into the mind of the anti-gun activist, though. You see, no matter what they ask for, it’s important to remember that it’s never the endgame. They’re never finished with that one bit of gun control. It’s only a start. They’ll either use it to justify the next piece of legislation or claim that it doesn’t go far enough, all despite no evidence that more is even needed.

NZ Gun Grabbers Not Content With Assault Weapon Ban
[It’s worse than just lack of evidence. In our country it’s in defiance of the specific enumerated right to keep and bear arms.

We know the motivation isn’t about making the general public safer. We know the motivation is sufficient they don’t hesitate to lie, indeed, lying appears to be an inherent part of their culture. These people are evil and must be stopped.

Change our culture by “coming out of the closet” as a gun owner. Take new shooters to the range. Donate money and/or time to gun rights groups. And call out the lies of those who wish evil upon us.—Joe]

  1. The quote simply defines Progressivism of course. Two words would be sufficient; “Progressive (or incremental) totalitarianism”, but Knighton does a good job of expounding.

    Even a single word could work; “coercive-ism”, but it doesn’t identify the tactic of incrementalism.

    “…despite no evidence that more is even needed.”

    Oops! What’s the problem with that statement? Class? Anyone?
    Answer; No coercion, no initiation of force, no violation of basic human rights, is ever needed. Part of our problem is that the Coercives have gotten into our heads, even we who have been espousing liberty for decades. We continue to have that vague, implanted belief in our heads; that it is somehow “reasonable” or “open-minded” (or that there is some such un-named, unidentified virtue) to take at face value some of the assertions of the enemies of liberty. It is understandable how we came to have that implanted belief, it is extremely common, and yet it is utterly wrong, lazy thinking.

    It can’t really even be called thinking, because just a little bit of thought would reveal the error in it. Rather it’s a conditioned response due to social pressures. One might even call it a post hypnotic suggestion that we can’t seem to shake off even when we can see it for what it is.

    Therein lives that incredulity which protects the biggest, most deadly lies of all time. This comes from the famous quote;
    “Small lies require the utmost secrecy, whereas the biggest lies are protected by our own incredulity.”

    Very few people, for example, even those in close proximity, believed the Germans would actually construct factories of mass death, and likewise few if anyone can really grasp the depths of depravity behind our current political system which is based on wholesale coercion and wholesale larceny.

    This system appears (or tries to appear) compassionate, but acts like a serial criminal, corrupting and eventually destroying everything which falls under its sway.

    “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” — Revelations 13:11

    Beasts and horns represent kingdoms, or governments, or political systems, and the dragon is the embodiment of evil. Seas represent peoples, nations, tribes and tongues, and so by extension then “coming up out of the earth” would be the opposite, meaning that it arose in a relatively unpopulated region. Some believe that the United States fits all the criteria for being that second beast. In Revelations, the second beast serves the cause of the first beast, and so we might look for the U.S. to point to the Roman system with approval and even deference.

  2. I interpreted “more is even needed” to include “more than zero”. Although as I look at it there is a good chance that isn’t what was meant.
