While some whites were lynched for murder or stealing cattle, there is another important reason many were lynched. Many whites were lynched for helping blacks or being anti-lynching. According to David Barton’s extensively well-documented book, “Setting the Record Straight: American History in Black & White,” the original targets of the Ku Klux Klan were Republicans, both black and white. The Klan terrorized both black and white Americans not to vote for Republican tickets. “Of all forms of violent intimidation, lynchings were by far the most effective.” Republicans often led the efforts to pass federal anti-lynching laws and their platforms consistently called for a ban on lynching. “Democrats successfully blocked those bills and their platforms never did condemn lynchings.”

Many whites were lynched for fighting racism
[The original purpose of the gun control in the U.S. was to protect the Klan from their victims. It should not be a surprise that the primary opposition to private gun owners comes from Democrats.
Extrapolating just a bit we arrive at the following conclusion: Then, as is the case now, one of the primary reason to vigorously hold on to our Second Amendment rights is to protect ourselves from Democrats.—Joe

And why would the record need to be set straight? Why, if the truth is knowable at all, would it be so rarely understood and even more rarely uttered? Why is it so common, in this “information age” that “common knowledge” is wrong? Why is this more of a “Misinformation Age”?
Who controls education and media?
Who has taken the bother to get as close as possible to original sources?
One such source, if you can find it anymore, is Woodrow Wilson, writing about the goals and purposes of public education, back when he was president of Princeton University. In his theses you will find the blueprint for what we’re experiencing today in education and media.
But where did Wilson and the other early 20th Century Progressives get THEIR ideas? This should be well-known, because, for one thing, Hillary once declared herself a “Proud, Early 20th Century Progressive”. For another thing, W. Wilson and FDR, Margaret Sanger, and George Bernard Shaw, are to this very day among the greatest darlings of history among Democrats and Progressives. Yet who ever bothered to look into Hillary’s statement, do some real research, and find out what it means? She ran for president, and no one in politics cared to look, and make it known?
David Barton has done some of this stuff, and he typically cites every source. What I haven’t seen from him yet though, is the looking farther back into the sources’ sources, and the sources’ sources’ sources.
Sure, Progressives of the turn of the 20th Century era were arrogant, flaming racist/Eugenicists and Marxists, and probably worse, but where did THOSE ideas come from. From Karl Marx for one, but where did HE get HIS ideas? They weren’t new.
You start looking into questions like this and you’re on the road to Crazytown, namely (cough) the Vatican (cough).
Go ahead, I dare you. Start with the “encyclicals” going back hundreds of years. Most of them are easy enough to find. In them you’ll see each and every modern “Progressive” and “Globalist” and Marxist/Fascist ideal there ever was, all wrapped up in thousands of words of pseudo/quasi Christian-sounding language, while they exalt and praise themselves, and call for “extermination” of the ideas of individual liberty, property rights and freedom of conscience and of speech. It’s all there. Every last bit.
Please; don’t take my word for it. Go visit Crazytown yourself, go down that rabbit hole, and then make of yourself a pariah should you ever talk about your findings. You’ll become that old, white, grey-haired, wild-eyed kook no one wants to acknowledge as an associate.
If you want to know why so many deadly lies are so often accepted as truth, you MAY want to start with the organization that, as a threat to its authority at the time, hated Gutenberg the most.
And then you can trace some of the influence back to pre-Christianity. It is particularly obvious in the early writings of the Church since many Church festivals are based on pagan festivals including Chrismas and Easter.

It is shocking to realize that some of our common narratives are just warmed over narratives of pagans. Still, there is a danger in abandoning ancient narratives as we see in the Left today. They have become amoral and are adrift without any guideposts. There are reasons why the ten commandants and other prescriptions for life exist and to discard based on a whim or understanding is folly.
Not just the guide posts. The railings are down. the berms at the sides of the road have been plowed away, and Ice covers the pavement. And the Democrat Progressive Leftists (but I repeat myself) are in a hurry.
