Quote of the day—Eric Swalwell

We should ban possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, we should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law, and we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons.

Eric Swalwell
U.S. Representative from California

Ban assault weapons, buy them back, go after resisters: Ex-prosecutor in Congress
[Don’t ever let anyone get away with telling you that no one wants to take your guns.

We should criminally prosecute those who attempt to deprive us of our rights.—Joe]

  1. That’ll be in his version of America, because it would result in many States refusing to participate, no matter if the Tranzi-Progs passed this heresy as law and had a sock puppet President to sign it into law.

In other words, it would be real and it would be on…

  2. I hate the “Buy Back” meme. First, I didn’t buy it from the government so there is no place for it to go back to. Second, no government has the right to force me to sell my property for a handful of trinkets, and a couple of magic beans. So yeah, if they want it, they’ll have to come get it.

    • Yes, “buy back” is just about the shortest way possible to express two lies.
The good thing about the term is that the enemy has adopted it for what they want to do, so it acts as an unmistakable signal of criminal intent.

    • This is why the Obamacare Supreme Court decision was so bad, evil and unconstitutional. The nine old goats in black dresses said the government could force everyone to pay money for something, so why not require a reverse of the transaction?

  5. There are over 600 million firearms in the US. Some untold number of them are defined by the left as “assault weapons.” They are owned by more than 100 million people.
There are 423,000 police officers in the US.
If 99% of gun owners turn in their guns, the police will still be outnumbered more than 2:1. It will likely be worse than that, as even Canada had less than a 15% compliance rate. In Florida, no bump stocks or binary triggers have been turned in, even though they have been illegal for over 2 weeks.
If even one percent of the remaining million gun owners with their 6 to 10 million firearms decide to resist the attempts at door to door confiscation, you are going to have a lot of dead cops on entry teams, and a lot of dead gun owners.
Once word gets out that confiscation has begun, you will see three effects:
    – Cops, seeing the body count, will either refuse to do raids or will begin doing them with more violence, which will raise citizen body counts. This will result in:
    – People ambushing police.
    – the American people will quickly grow tired of the body count

    • Not to mention that a large fraction of cops (and military people) will refuse the obviously illegal orders to confiscate citizen’s guns.
There’s also the point that some will realize you don’t go after the dumb brownshirts executing the illegal orders, but rather against the bosses who are giving the orders.

  6. Trivia question for you all: can you name a gun, any gun, that is NOT directly or indirectly describable as “military style” in some manner?

Sure, Derringers, maybe, but they are just derivatives of the single shot handguns of centuries past, which were used by the military. Hence, Derringers are military style guns.

Pink plastic stocked single shot .22LR Cricket rifles for little girls? Just a scaled down bolt action military style rifle. Hmmm.

Can you come up with a gun that legitimately CANNOT be described as military style?
