Quote of the day—Stephen P. Halbrook

American students deserve better than to be placed in “gun free” killing zones. They deserve better than to live in an authoritarian regime in which only the military, the police and criminals possess firearms.

And they deserve to live in a society in which all provisions of the Bill of Rights are respected, where those who claim to be law enforcement actually do their jobs, and where they are protected in fact from those who would do harm.

Blame for Parkland Rests with Local School Officials and FBI Ineptitude

  1. Correction; It was not “FBI ineptitude” but rather planned dereliction (i.e. a conspiracy). If we can’t call a spade a spade, how can we properly respond to it? This is like witnessing a vehicular homicide and calling it “inattentive driving”. The proper response to one is very different from the other. We don’t call a paid assassination a “shooting accident” or “inept gun handling” either, unless we’re deluding ourselves to avoid the grave implications.

  2. The system worked as designed, with predictable results.
It will do so again and again.
How long can we avoid the planned response, gun control, to such events, when they are going to recur without fail every few months, due to the policies of letting bad kids remain in school?

This is Fast & Furious all over again, but using damaged humans in this country instead of semiauto rifles in Mexico.
