Rounds in the last month

This month I only loaded a 180 .223 rounds. Part of that was because I spend a long weekend visiting Xenia in Kentucky and part is because I finished up most of my new .223 brass and started in on my used brass. The used brass needs more prep and with my hand powered tools it took a lot of time. The new electrically powered tool helped a bunch and I have been been prepping brass and, essentially, not reloading as I go through the backlog of used brass to clean and prep.

This brings my lifetime reloaded ammunition totals to:

223: 3,318 rounds.
30.06: 756 rounds.
300 WIN: 1,591 rounds.
40 S&W: 80,258 rounds.
45 ACP: 2,007 rounds.
9 mm: 21,641 rounds.
Total: 109,571 rounds.

  1. I have been trimming .223 brass by chucking a Lee trimmer in a drill press, using a strip of brass on the table to take the wear of the index pin, and holding the case in pliers with the jaws taped up. Chamfering is done in a small bench lathe, by using a Lee case holder with a hex stem or chucking the case directly. It is possible to chuck the chamfering tool, but then doing the inside and outside become separate operations.
