FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida
On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.
Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.
We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.
FBI Director Christopher Wray said:
“We are still investigating the facts. I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public. It’s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly.
“We have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy. All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.”
Good security depends on multiple independent layers. Law enforcement is one layer. Threat intelligence is another. In this instance law enforcement failed. This is how it should have gone down.
Denying access to the protected assets is another. This requires more than signs and stern words. It frequently requires people with guns. This is something the political left is fine with if the protected asset is a bank, government building, celebrity or politician, but it the protected asset is a common person and especially the children of a commoner then they go hysterical and demand even less physical security. This is clearly some sort of insanity and/or evil and should be treated as such.
Gun grabbers fall into two categories. The powerful elite who constantly seek to disarm honest Americans and their brain dead oxygen thief sycophants who blindly vote for them thus giving them access to political power. The second group is beyond reach. No amount of reasoning, logic or incontrovertible facts can ever matter to this group. They are immune to rationality. They emote their way through life. The first group is NOT stupid. They know perfectly well that the “gun control” they seek will have ZERO effect on crime. They simply DO NOT CARE. All that matters to this group is power. They know that “gun control” does not prevent criminals from having guns. They live in gated communities with security and armed guards. Crime doesn’t impact them. They not only don’t care if someone shoots up a school or a workplace they WANT THIS TO HAPPEN. The blood of innocent people provides them with emotional fodder for their brain dead power base. It gives them “talking points” to use when they make an appearance on camera with a lame stream media whore to push their latest effort to violate the Constitution. Their kids and grandkids don’t go to public schools…..they go to private schools, usually with armed security. The left simply DOES NOT CARE how many innocent people die if they stand to gain ANY power at all from that death. And they don’t give a red rats ass about the what criminals and nut jobs do…..they are beyond their reach for the most part. The insanity of “gun control” is a lie. It has nothing to do with guns, crime or safety. It is ONLY about the holy grail of the left….CONTROL. A huge number of Americans understand this. But sadly an equally huge number of Americans are TOO DAMNED STUPID to understand this or anything else more complicated than a TV remote, ( this is the group that provides us with Tide Pod ingesters). This group grows larger every generation…..which is why the demonrat left grows more powerful every generation. We plugged up the filter to the gene pool a century ago….we are now reaping the consequences of that choice.
The FBI is too busy pursuing its political agenda to protect anything. Time to send them all home with no pensions. Surely that would help with funding the wall.
Yeah, I see no reason why the FBI should have responded ahead of the shooting. There’s nothing in it for them and their Obama/Alinsky/Hillary/Marxist/pro-chaos agenda. Better to let it happen, let the insecurities, fears, hatreds and frustrations spread, and then call for more of the insanity that caused it. This sort of thing is a gold mine for them. Why stop now?
I bet they get more funding as a result of it too. Spread fear and encourage chaos in order to sell increased authoritarianism and discredit the American founding principles, get a bonus. Win win win.
Trump said we’d get tired of winning, but he didn’t specify which “We” he meant to be on the winning side and which “We” would lose. More importantly, he didn’t let on as to who would be in control of all this winning (hint; it’s not him).
