  1. Wow. That’s even more damning that “they say this is the slippery slope — I would hope so” (Nancy Pelosi, a few weeks ago).
It amounts to a written confession of perjury (of his oath of office) as well as intent to violate 18 USC 241 and 242.

    • Guns are such magic talismans to the criminal element that they think all they have to do is show them to mugging victims and magically the victims behave, and give money and valuables, and Newsom, being of that ilk. thinks that all gun owners will roll over as easily and quickly as he would.

  2. Wasn’t there a movie once called the trial of Lee Harvey Oswald, filmed as if it were a real trial? And didn’t Vincent Bugliosi do something similar for George W. Bush for the Iraq war? This would be an interesting subject for a filmed moot court exercise, just to see what a case for perjury (of his oath of office) and intent to violate 18 USC 241 and 242. Maybe a conspiracy charge, too? All it takes for a conspiracy is an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy (it could be something as innocent as buying a big screwdriver at a hardware store after the parties agreed to the conspiracy, so it would not take much to prove a conspiracy between Gavin Newsom, Nancy Pelosi, Feinstein and others.

    • What would it take to get just ONE, anywhere in the nation, to be charged and convicted of this sort of violation? And how quickly do you think the rest of them could dismantle all the gun control laws? Could past serving politicians who voted in favor of passed laws be charged retroactively?

      • Charging someone for a crime committed in the past (within the statute of limitations) is not “retroactive”. Retroactive means creating a new law that changes whether past acts were lawful. That isn’t the case here; perjury has always been illegal, and a charge of perjury having been committed at the time would certainly have merit.

As for will there be a charge, let alone conviction, anywhere? I rather doubt it. It would have to be brought and handled by a prosecutor, who is also a lawyer and just as invested as any other politician in getting away with lying and cheating and perjury. Perhaps even more so; prosecutors have a long and ugly track record of stomping on all aspects of the law with both hobnailed boots.

  3. Bring it, big Gavin, just any ol’ time you feel froggy. Would LOVE to see Trump send Federal tanks rolling on your insurrectionist state and subsequently, you traitors hanging from a gallows.

  4. Of course, by “we” this typical liberal politician really doesn’t mean he’s going to lead the charge. He and his ilk will pass more legislation, drink some wine in celebration with the leaders of the gun control groups, and consider their jobs done until the next opportunity to tighten the screws more. Enforcement of these unconstitutional laws is always left to someone else.

    • Exactly. Like when the CEO says “we have to make sacrifices,” while the workforce takes a pay cut and his bonus doubles. My response is usually, “Who’s ‘we?’ You got a gerbil up your butt?”
