Quote of the day—John R. Lott Jr.

Last month, the prestigious, bipartisan Texas Lyceum invited me to debate gun control issues. They asked Everytown, the Brady Campaign and the Violence Policy Center if they would participate. Once again, they refused.

Mr. Bloomberg and his groups are unwilling because they don’t want viewers to see their inaccurate information being challenged. They would rather people just take their falsehoods at face value.

Challenging inaccurate information about guns—A fair debate on the issue is needed, but liberal lobbying groups refuse to participate
[Of course. The truth is toxic to their agenda.—Joe]

  1. The antis are frequently calling for “a conversation about guns”, but they’ll only have that “conversation” with fellow authoritarians who won’t, or are not equipped to, challenge their premises.

We have entered a Soviet phase in the U.S., at least in the universities, where the Marxists and Stalinists are openly denying the validity of the country’s founding, and openly denying the validity of the Bill of Rights. It’s a “Charter of Negative Rights”, remember, and so it is evil, and so anything they do against it is justified.

So it is that we can discern their full meaning of “it’s time we had a conversation about (x)”. Since we’ve had a generations-long conversation already, and concluded over and over that the second amendment protects a true human right, it becomes clear that by “conversation” they mean “insurrection” or “revolution”. They lose every “conversation” so they need something more forceful than the persuasion of false words bolstered with faked emotions. They long for their very own Bolshevik Revolution here in America.

Or as I put it, the Civil War of the 1860s was never decided. General Lee surrendered the shooting fight, but no one surrendered the elitist, coercive authoritarian mindset that made the shooting necessary. The war is still going on, and it’s still between the pro-slavery Democrats, and the Republicans who have forgotten their purpose.

The Democrats seem to have stayed on task. They’re still keeping their black people in poverty and confusion, and they’re trying to disarm their slaves, only now it isn’t just black people, it’s everyone. The Republicans seem to have no idea what’s going on, or don’t want to know, or they know and don’t want to talk about it.

So right there is a conversation we need. We need to find out what’s going on in the Republican Party that makes them act like zombies, and what makes them lash out at anyone who doesn’t like zombies.

    • But then the rank and file thoughtless Leftists need to understand that the conversation has been going on since before the Civil War, and they may have the idiot numbers on their side, but they lose the (discredited patriarchal) facts and reason every time.
Perhaps a national announcement of THE GREAT NATIONAL DISCUSSION, to be held on a certain day and televised would show who really wants a discussion and not a diatribe. Fiorello LaGuardia, after a rival for the office of Mayor accused him of being out of touch with and unaware of the needs of the Jewish citizens of New York, challenged this rival to a debate of the issues in Yiddish, a language he was fluent in. For the rest of the campaign he taunted this rival with the words, “Ich Varte” after every speech.
The erstwhile Leftist slave masters need to be called out on this fraud, in a way that cannot be buried by the lapdog lickspittle media. If it were not for this blog, I would not have known of John Lott’s victory over the forces of slavery. And if the cowardice of Everytown, the Brady Campaign and the Violence Policy Center can be buried for seven months, did their cowardice and defeat even exist?
