Quote of the day—Con Slobodchikoff

A lot of people talk to their dogs and share their innermost secrets. With cats I’m not sure what they’d have to say.

A lot of times it might just be ‘you idiot, just feed me and leave me alone’.

  1. Last year I was reading where a cat expert said that “meow” is a combination of “hello” (me-) and “keep back” (-ow). In my limited encounters with cats in public, using just the “me” as a greeting seems to encourage them to come close for petting. Using “meow” previously, cats tended to be somewhat standoffish, and I think I quit using it after associating it with poor results.
Can’t say I have confirmed this, but it’s certainly suggestive.

  2. Site has anti-adblocker and embedded auto-play video?! NOPE. Being annoying as hell is not how you get my readership, or my references.
