Quote of the day—Dana Loesch @DLoesch

I read hate mail (and Tweets) on air for money that I use to buy ammo. God bless capitalism.

  1. “Capitalism” I believe is a Marxist term. To them it means, essentially, “He who has the gold makes the rules”. That’s in total contrast to the actual, American founding principles, something no Progressive, and only the the rare Republican, is willing to understand.

Rather than “capitalism” then, I prefer “liberty” or “the prohibition of coercion”. The latter makes it clear that no one gets to make their own rules and impose them on others under the threat of violence, no matter how much wealth they’ve accumulated.

    • Those are good terms, but while capitalism may be a marxist term, it has been generally adopted as a positive term. I like that — flipping communist propaganda against them. It’s an older variant of “deplorable”.
If you want a different term, “free market” would be more specific; “liberty” is fine but conceptually broader. (In reality, closer than that, because if you have the one you pretty automatically have the other, but at least in what the word literally means there’s a difference in scope.)

  2. Now that’s a variant of “turning lemons into lemonade” that I hadn’t heard before…
