Quote of the day—Azadeh Ansari

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner recently signed a new gun control law that imposes harsher penalties on those who bring in guns from out of state to sell and do not have gun-owner ID cards. Illinois already has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the nation however it’s done little to stem the violence.

Last year, marked the deadliest year the city has seen in nearly two decades with a reported 762 homicides.

Seven shot dead – including pregnant mother – in one day in gun controlled Chicago
[Gee… I wonder if there is a connection between “the strictest gun-control laws in the nation” and “the deadliest year the city has seen in nearly two decades”.

Of course there is.

President Trump has been suggesting he will send in troops to put an end to it. I think sending in Federal Marshals to arrest those passing and enforcing gun control laws, followed by self-defense handgun training for the average person, would work far better and be far cheaper.

But these people have spent so much time living in an alternate reality they would rather be killed that face the truth.—Joe]

  1. Oh good, a new law to make it more illegal to do things that are already illegal. Surely that will solve all the problems.

  2. Sorry, we simply cannot dispel the progressive myth that man is perfectible and utopia is obtainable if we just have the right (i.e. leftist) leaders in place and the right policies enforced (i.e. total authoritarian control of every aspect of the serf’s life).

Let’s go with the alternative of martial law in the city or the better suggestion of US Marshals arresting the city alders. I’d like to see them being removed from power by force and fixing it for them, but I am tired of nation building. Perhaps we should just nuke the site from orbit…just to be sure.

As my daughter is fond of saying, “Fail!”

  3. Yup. The problem is the result of a century of Progressive Marxist incursion, occupation, intervention, indictrination and meddling. They’re fighting a war against Judeao/Christian Civilization. In believing the United States, as founded, to be the Great Satan, something that must be dismantled before they can live as they wish, they have a significant trait in common with jihadists. The solution can only come when that cause is understood fully and addressed directly.

  4. He’s slightly off. “Illinois already has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the nation however it’s done little to stem the violence.”
No, actually, that should read: “Illinois already has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the nation, resulting as expected in increased violence.”
