Meh. We’re still calling authoritarians liberals, then?
To say that Obamacare has failed requires explanation. We don’t all agree on the purpose of Obamacare, and so some will say it’s a success, others will say it’s a failure, but the most important thing to say about it is that it’s wrong.
I maintain that O-care is largely successful because I know that it was designed to frustrate people, manipulating them into calling for a total “single payer” (meaning government) medical industry. To the extent that it’s frustrated people then, it is a success. I’m not trying to be cute here, in case anyone’s wondering. That’s the truth of it.
More importantly though, government intervention into the medical industry is wrong.
Our conversation is still pretty far off the mark most of the time then. It would be like the Abolitionist movement arguing; “Slavery has failed. We gave it a good try, but it’s just not working out logistically or economically for all Americans… We need another way to do slavery… We’ll come up without own plan… Repeal and Replace…”
See? That kind of talk completely, utterly, profoundly miss the point.
So the remaining question is; do we understand this stuff, and are we therefore playing silly games with our speech for some reason (and if so, who are we trying to appease, and are they really worth appeasing?) or are we still just pretty clueless, stumbling in the dark, hoping for (…blank…) as we go?
It always was a Trojan Horse for Single Payer. I curse all Democrats.
Please apply the coup de grace and put a bullet in its figurative brain and end the obamacare abomination.
Pull all funding and dissolve associated agencies, rescind all regulations related to it. Wipe it clean. Make it so it never existed. Total erasure.
Whatever the Repubs come up with will be just as bad…or worse!
