Quote of the day—Mike “Mish” Shedlock

It’s not easy losing to the most unpopular candidate in history while outspending him nearly 3-1.

I propose Hillary deserves a lifetime achievement award. Her noteworthy performance may never be broken.

Did Fake News Help Trump? New Study Says Ads More Important
[The one big take away I have from the spending reports is that money apparently isn’t as important as it was thought to be.

I like that.—Joe]

  1. That is so completely unfair. Everyone who campaigned should get a “participated” award, so they don’t feelz bad.

Maybe Trump should present her with the Medal of Freedom? By not being elected, she has helped create a political environment where there’s a chance of restoring some of our misplaced liberties. Besides, the photo op of Trump leering away behind Hillary like the Barry and Joe Show would be priceless.

  2. The only reward she has coming is a long prison sentence, followed by her special place in hell.

Money doesn’t count as much as it did when there were only NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS. Back then the anti-Americans (the Democrats, Soviets, lesser communists, Eugenicists and bomb-throwing anarchists) owned the narrative. Back then, all they had to do was speak. There was no significant media opposition.

No longer. Now they must also try to respond to us, or to shut us up, and they never learned how to do either one. Now the truth also has some chance at being heard and that’s the most dangerous thing ever, to authoritarians. Look for them to go extra-bat-shit crazy unless they can find new ways to marginalize the message of Liberty.

  3. Hillary out spent President Trump for purchased ads, but the President probably got 10x her news coverage for free. Every time he tweeted something the Media would SQUIRREL!!!!, repeat it (so we got to see what he actually said) and go on forever analyzing and tut-tutting the latest ‘mis-step’ from that deplorable man. Lather, rinse, repeat..

Add in the guaranteed coverage of incited violence outside pro-Trump rallies and the Media just kept showing Hillary and the Democrats in the worst possible light.

Hillary had to be just barely not accused of crimes to get any news time..

  4. You should look up Obama approval ratings for his first week in office. The numbers are almost identical to Trump’s. We’ve been divided for a long time. It just feels more shrill right now.

    • The “permanent campaign” was a Bill Clinton invention, though there was a bit of a pause in it shortly after 9/11/2001. So yes, they started the dividing quite a while ago, and it has been ratcheted up ever since.

  5. Pingback: How important is money in politics?

  6. The permanent campaign was Clinton’s invention, but Nixon had his CREEP operating almost all the time, too, and just about as nefariously as Carville’s circus.
