Quote of the day—Paul Koning

As a general principle, you should assume that any weapon not yet banned by left wing state laws is so merely due to an oversight.

[My only quibble is that Koning is limiting this observation to state laws. Left wing local and national governments are always looking for “loopholes” to close as well. It’s all part of the grand scheme where eventually those things which are not banned are mandatory.—Joe]

A possible fix? An admitted redundancy.

I wonder if the snake of anti-liberty is impossible to kill because of something in human nature that regards the rich and powerful as demigods. Something like Heinlein’s observation about cats never forgetting that thousands of years ago they were worshiped as gods, the rich and powerful have never forgotten that thousands of years ago (and not many at all) they were worshiped as gods, and had the power of life and death over their slaves as in Roman times, and until quite recently, droit du Seigneur, which might be politely regarded as right of first fruits even of his peasants.

    • Interesting hypothesis.

And many humans feel it is quite appropriate to worship, or at least have nearly infinite deference to, rulers/”leaders”. This feeling is alien to me but I recognize it in others.

I don’t see politicians as “leaders”. I see them as “public servants”. But I may be different in that many of my ancestors were on this continent prior to the revolutionary war and then moved west in the 1800s. They may have self selected to not have this feeling.
