Quote of the day—Jeff Snyder

For years, feminists have labored to educate people that rape is not about sex, but about domination, degradation, and control. Evidently, someone needs to inform the law enforcement establishment and the media that kidnapping, robbery, carjacking and assault are not about property.

Crime is not only a complete disavowal of the social contract but also a commandeering of the intended victim’s person and liberty. If the individual’s dignity lies in the fact that he is a moral agent engaging in actions of his own will, in free exchange with others, then crime always violates the victims dignity. It is, in fact, an act of enslavement. Your wallet, your purse, your car many not be worth your life, but your dignity is; and if it is not worth fighting for, it can hardly be said to exist.

[Yes. Enslavement. The perpetrator is using force, without moral or legal right, to take that which you have labored for. Lethal force is justified against those who are in the act of enslaving others.—Joe]

  1. Indeed. This is what’s wrong with the modern notion that lethal force is only permitted against threats to life, not against threats to property.

    • The Idaho jury deciding the Randy Weaver and Kevin Harris case thought it meant the wrong people were on trial.

  2. Whatever happened to Jeff Snyder? Never hard any more about him after that book.

  3. It’s funny. I was castigated for pointing out that the “broken window” campaign of the Threepers from a few years ago was tantamount to slavery.

Glad to know it was not an original, or revolutionary, thought.

  4. “Lethal force is justified against those who are in the act of enslaving others.”

Like Congress and the IRS? Like the entire Progressive Marxist movement worldwide? Like practically all of Islam?

Hmm, well most of the above have been saying that there are too many people on this planet. That’d be an awful lot of killing though, being that you’d have to kill all but about 97 percent of the world’s population.

      • Open to debate, indeed. That loophole would be the Constitution, to the extent they obey it. Which is not often at all.

        • That would depend on what your definition of “obey” is.
Leftists use the Constitution as a a place to hang their arguments for our enslavement. They follow it closely when it suits them and utilize footnotes and suggestions and penumbras of umbras and emanations of emissions of hints when it suits them better.

          • My definition uses the normal parsing of plain English language, which is what the Constitution uses.
