Quote of the day—TJ Martinell

A vital lesson from this gun control war is that the unless action is taken in the states themselves to nullify and resist unconstitutional federal gun laws, the threat will exist perpetually. Gun rights activists no doubt fought with the best of intentions and attempted to thwart gun grabbers at every turn, but their strategy demonstrated that despite victory after victory at a federal level, and even at a state level, the enemy eventually recuperates and makes another attempted assault on our right to keep and bear arms. The only way to neutralize the threat is by getting states to pass Second Amendment Preservation Acts.

  1. Doesn’t matter what laws are passed at what level of government.
If the clear concise and unmistakable words and meaning of the’
Second Amendment poses no impediment for gun grabbers and
evil politicians a thousand laws won’t do any good. The ONLY rights
you have are those you are willing to fight for, die for and kill for.
As long as we allow people who wish to and endeavor to infringe on
our rights to do so with impunity….meaning that they can try over and over
as often as they like while suffering NO HARM they have no incentive
to obey the restrictions imposed by the Bill of Rights. In short as long as
we allow anti freedom people who seek to destroy rights to LIVE AND BREATHE
they will persist in their efforts to destroy freedom. It’s what they are, it’s who they are and nothing will change that short of removing them from the populace.

  2. Freedom lives in the hearts of men. Laws can reflect that, but laws cannot make it be so.

We have plenty of laws right now, which “prevent” any encroachment on the second amendment or any other enumerated right, along with the unenumerated rights. No one is enforcing them. What makes anyone think that some shiny new law will be enforced any more than the perfectly good laws we have already and which are not being enforced?

The constitution itself is the “Supreme Law of the Land” and that should be enough. In addition, we have 18 USC 241 and 18 USC 242, plus anti sedition laws, and the RICO statutes, provisions for prosecuting treason, and more besides. Any one of those is enough, and yet what good are they among a corrupt society?

Laws, as I said, cannot awaken freedom in the hearts of men, or bring it to life after it has died. Something can, but not laws. So what is it?

    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

    • 18 USC 241 and 242, RICO etc. are Federal laws. The laws Martinell speaks of are state laws. There are different people enforcing those. And in the case of the state laws proposed the local people are forbidden to act as opposed to the Federal laws which give the Federal people the option to prosecute. The people and politicians in many states do give the right to bear arms much more respect than do the politicians at the Federal level. Giving state law enforcement political cover at the state level to passively resist the unconstitutional Federal laws is better than what we have now.

This is true because it’s easier for someone to do nothing under the cover of shiny new state law than to actively pursue a difficult course of action (Federal law says something is illegal and should be prosecuted while the constitution says the law is illegal) in the case of a shiny new law that is in conflict with The Embarrassing Second Amendment.
