Quote of the day—Kevin Baker

They’ve got hate, and a holy mandate to build Utopia – on our corpses, if history is any guide.  We’ve got a populace that knows something is wrong, but has been robbed of the education necessary to grasp exactly what and then reason themselves out of the problem by the same forces that are intent on building that Utopia.  Instead, a significant portion voted for Donald Trump, mostly out of sheer frustration.  Another example of pressing the “Fuck It” button.

This does not bode well for us.

Pressing the “Fuck It” Button
[Kevin and I have had private conversations on this, more than once, into the wee hours of the morning. I tend to think he is a bit too pessimistic and he thinks I am too optimistic.

I suspect we are getting scary close to finding out who is more nearly correct. Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.—Joe]

  1. My bigger fear is not that people push that button and take the crapshoot that is voting trump, it is that even more would rather go with the lying, corrupt, spiteful, and pathological, and think things might possibly get better.

    Dark times, indeed.

    • If I have a choice between “definitely horrible” and “who knows?” I’ll roll the dice. Every time.

      • Russian roulette with a semi auto vs with a pistol and one bullet?
        Edwin Edwards vs David Duke?
Or, Edwin Edwards vs someone the media wants us to believe is worse than David Duke?

        Strange days have found us.

  2. I was thinking a similar thing this am. Right to self defense and rightful use of self defense are two different things. I think the folks in these cities have a right to self defense using the Declaration of Independence as my guide. Rightful self defense would not include shooting random people. Rightful use would be to string up mayors/city councils and throw the millions sustenance eating regs on a bonfire and start over in their city. Of course they are not educated and don’t even know who Jefferson was, and that solution would elicit an even more draconian police state.

The rule of law is dead.

    • Indeed, the rule of law has died and we are now under the rule of man.

As the modern Progressive has risen, so has the palpable hated for all things, “Traditional”. Make no mistake, should HRC seize control, those of us who cannot accede to her demands and dictates will have no choice but to resist or perish.

HRC recently led off a speech and the NRA and its allies were at the top of her “enemies” list. If you refuse to knuckle under to her “Common Sense” versions of the law, Constitutional Rights and parameters of society, your an enemy. Her history of dealing with perceived threats does not make reasonable discussion and negotiation seem like a logical outcome.
