Quote of the day—W. Kamau Bell

We could use a President who was, like, “OK. Everybody turn in all your guns tomorrow by 5 p.m. After that, if I catch you with a gun then I’m sending SEAL Team Six to your house with a recent Facebook picture of you and those tanks that shoot fire that we haven’t used since Waco — Ummm — I mean since World War II.”

And let me be clear about something else, gun owners. I want President Obama to want to take your guns away. I don’t trust you with your guns. I don’t trust you to fire them safely. I don’t trust you to store them safely. I don’t trust your kids not to find them. I don’t trust you not to get them stolen.

I want Obama to take away your guns

Don’t ever let anyone get away with telling you that no one wants to take your guns.—Joe]

  1. Pissant.

God am I tired of these fascistic twits that think everything would be just great if they took away the gun, one way or another.

This is not Great Britain, Canada or Australia. Try the schemes that they’ve put in place (and are backing off on Canada) or attempt something similar and there will be blood shed. I don’t give a crap who you con into doing your dirty work, they’re human and aren’t immune to lead poisoning… And there are many more of us than them.

Seriously, what ever happened to respecting other people’s rights and privacy?

    • They are not talking about taking away guns. It’s a revenge fantasy they have, of making some anonymous hit-team crushing what they perceive as their enemies. They want to live in a place where hit team go house to house stepping on those that make these cowards feel bad by using logic, or being independent.

It’s like a rabbit, being afraid of all the cattle-dogs that keeps the wolves away, wanting another bigger, meaner dog to go and chase all the cattle-dogs away, even though the big mean dog, being small in number, can’t possibly keep them safe.

  2. He needs to take point on the project! Funny how people can’t see that specific, enumerated rights don’t exist in a vacuum. You have the right to say things like this BECAUSE someone gave his life to protect it using a GUN!

Crap for brains, these people have!

  3. Does he have 100 million Seal teams, in order to take ALL the guns at once? Like gun owners would stand around and watch their numbers picked off one by one. This guy needs to get in touch with reality.

  4. Not only does he want to take our guns, but he seems quite eager to see some bloodshed over it.

Again, confiscation and they want us dead.

  5. No. Your move.

Either they do not know and are oblivious to what would happen, How a lot of people would react in that situation or they know and want it to happen. If ithe situation is the latter then these are some of most evil people to ever walk the face of the earth because that wouldn’t having the government kill literally almost half of United States population. The killing of 110 to 150,000,000 people United States to them as a afterthought; a means to an end.

  6. This kind of thinking is implanted in people. “I don’t trust…I don’t trust…I don’t trust…” We trust each other on highways traveling in opposite directions at closing speeds of 120 to 150 MPH mere feet away from each other, and we think very little of it.

It would take a generation or two, but it would be easy to program people into a murderous rampage against motor vehicle owners too. After all, “If it could save the life of just one child…”

We could just as readily, just as legitimately, use that “I don’t trust you” routine to smear anyone for anything. “I don’t trust you with your bleach. I don’t trust you to store it safely. I don’t trust you to keep it away from your kids…I don’t trust you with your matches and gasoline…”

He’s basically saying, “I’m afraid of you, and that fear alone justifies violence against you.”

I certainly don’t trust anyone who calls for attacking the peaceable, law-abiding citizen for exercising a constitutional right.

If we’re going to adopt W. Kamau Bell’s model of sending out goon squads to kill people for the purpose of making society safer (?) then it would make more sense that anyone who questions basic human rights as enumerated in the constitution be summarily killed.

The main thing though is the concept of “Rule by Goon Squad” or what I’ve been calling the coercive society. The issue of the day (guns, the economy, football rules, jihad) is not important. What is important is finding ways to justify wholesale coercion, to make wholesale coercion “work”, and make it seem like a good and wonderful, even beautiful, thing.

    • And of course, if you require widespread coercion to make your plan work, you are not in favor of freedom, and have declared yourself an enemy of the nation.

      Bell, so noted.

  7. You know, I had a totally snarky, racist reply for this twit written up. Then I reread the article and excised it. I think he really does want what he stated, but he didn’t exactly state so explicitly. He stated that IF Obama was like that, he could understand why we hate him so much. Long explanation – but I’ve deleted my comment.

Bell is still a liberal asshole though.

    • Reading it, he strikes me as someone that is actively trying to not understand gun owners and the political right / conservative position. He believes what Obama says, and he can’t understand why we don’t. He doesn’t get that when Obama says he does not want to take our gun, we hear the resounding echo of “if you like your health care plan, you can keep your plan.” He doesn’t understand why we don’t trust a man that has actively been trying to destroy American power around the the world, why we don’t respect a man that has demonstrated nothing but contempt for the Constitution, American voters, the rule of law, and has been actively racist (constantly claiming that whites are racist, and appointing people to high offices because they are black) and divisive. The author doesn’t understand our distrust, because to acknowledge it is to question the worthiness of his idol.

      • Precisely – he didn’t hear anything explicit about taking guns, so assumed it wasn’t there – and couldn’t possibly understand why we DO hear that. Guys like him don’t understand the morass of gun laws we already wade through and the deceit and trickery that we’re constantly faced with in trying to maintain an enumerated right – he probably believes that guns are hardly regulated at all. We have the “benefit” of years of experience with this that brings a firm understanding that “they” do indeed want out guns.

  8. A big part of this twit’s rant is about his utter disappointment with Obamessiah.
He’s been so stunned by his inaptness and the damage done to the liberal/progressive ideal that he can’t even censor himself, thus exposing his true self.
Literally he can’t figure whether to defecate or go blind.
He keeps ranting on like this and he’s liable to stroke out.

  9. I’m seeing this more and more, as though my eyes have been opened.

Some people have the capability of speech, but not, apparently, of action. They want speech to be equivalent to action, so that the Talkers can be as powerful as the Doers.

We see this in the university professor who tried to browbeat a student journalist performing journalism, and when the student refused to back down, the professor screamed “can I get some muscle here?”. She wanted results from talking. We see this to a certain extent in President Obama, who disparages strong-arm actors on the international stage and brags about his phone and his pen.

And we see it in people like this W. Kamau Bell. He wants his words to cause changes in the world – never mind that he needs others to DO something, so that his words will be anything more than empty noise.

The response to such a Talker, as Shawn point out above, is equal and opposite Talk – “no”.

They can do nothing without us taking their words seriously. We have no obligation whatsoever to do so.

    • Yeah, that threw me a little. You could be forgiven for thinking the whole thing was a parody.

  10. Well at least he gave his name. All we need now is his address. If and when this all goes down, perhaps someone would visit HIM
