Today I finished loading a case (supposedly 2500 but there were 2513 in this one) of 180 grain, .40 caliber, JHP, Montana Gold bullets. In the box I found this:

Are you saying they shorted you almost 500 bullets, or is it that you only loaded 2013 rounds? if it’s the former, I would be on the phone looking for the rest of my order.

It’s been my experience that almost every bullet and brass manufacturer, either accidentally or on purpose, winds up with a few extra in anything packaged in a quantity over 100.
Makes sense. It’s probably measured by weight, not count, and since shipping short will get you yelled at, “counting scales” would normally be set with the tolerance range as -0%, +n% for suitable n.
At a match last summer I won a box of 500 bullets from Rainier Ballistics. I counted 502 in the box.
Perfectly understandable.
