Quote of the day—Alan Korwin

Depriving the public of gear as a way to stop murderers is misguided, puts you at risk and at its core, is a thinly disguised effort to get to zero-round magazines—in the false and dangerous belief that disarming innocent people will finally disarm criminals.

  1. “…in the…belief that disarming innocent people will…disarm criminals.”

It’s clearly idiotic, but that is exactly what we’re supposed to believe. However I don’t think for a second that the people pushing the idea believe it themselves.

No, it’s far worse than mere stupidity. The authoritarians (the coercives) wish to disarm innocent people specifically because the innocent, the peaceable, the principled, pose the greatest threat to the coercive system. Criminals they can live with. Criminals are part of their system.

Criminals and corrupt government need each other. For one of the more blatant examples, look at the drug cartels and the DEA. Neither could possibly exist without the other. They are partners. They both profit. We pay the price.

    • It’s the Floyd Ferris principle: criminals are good because you have a hold on them; honest people are bad because you can’t use the “justice” system to control them.

  2. The laws against murder predate American jurisprudence by millennia, enough said.

  3. How limited an intellect does it require to believe that disarming the law abiding will stop the law breaking ?
