Quote of the day—Kurt Schlichter

I’m not advocating violence – I am warning liberals that they are setting the conditions for violence.

And that better worry them, for the coastal elites are uniquely unsuited to a world where force rules instead of law. The Serbs were, at least, a warrior people. The soft boys and girls who brought us helicopter parenting, “trigger warnings” and coffee cups with diversity slogans are not.

I know the endgame of discarding the rule of law for short-term advantage because I stood in its ruins. Liberals think this free society just sort of happened, that they can poke and tear at its fabric and things will just go on as before. But they won’t. So at the end of the day, if you want a society governed by the rule of force, you better pray that you’re on the side with the guns and those who know how to use them.

Liberals May Regret Their New Rules

  1. I don’t believe most “liberals” (“coercives” would be more accurate) would understand the quote. This could be seen as a paradox in several ways.

Always it will be the soft boys and girls, those less able to cope, the more dependent, who advocate for a more coercive society. They see people prospering around them and they’re filled with envy, which turns to hatred. The coercive society is their way of getting even, making things more equitable, or “leveling the playing field”.

That’s the meaning of “Social Justice”; revenge. The American Way, government’s job being the protection of human rights rather than the shaping and directing of society, stands as an obstacle to that end.

The other reason coercives can’t understand this is that they see the armed citizen as an advocate for, or the cause of, criminal violence. They’ve got it exactly backwards of course. They’re going on the Albert Einstein model of “you cannot simultaneously prepare for and prevent war” when the correct model is “the only way to prevent war is to make it clear that you are ready, able and willing to crush your enemies at the drop of a hat” (that and being on the side of human rights).

Blinded by hate, coercives will not understand any of this. They’re diametrically opposed to strength, principles, human rights, responsibility and independence. That’s how they became coercives– They lust for a powerful government to make up for their own weakness.

As Kurt points out, one way or another that all-powerful government will be their undoing. They’ll never understand it though, even when they’re up against the wall.

    • “Coercives” — good term. Got to remember that one.

While Kurt’s article is generally fine, he neglects the problem that soft coercives have hard evil people working for them. The kind of people who perpetrated the massacres at Waco and Ruby Ridge. The kind who would be happy to inflict evil on freedom-loving citizens. There probably aren’t very many of them, but there are enough to be a problem.

      • Yep. Every soft boy or girl longs for what I call a “pet dragon”, an apex predator, a surrogate strong man or thug that operates at their behest.

It’s been compared to a religion, which works pretty well. They want a Higher Power which intercedes in worldly affairs. The difference is that their Higher Power is a group of human thugs, commanded by a Dear Leader.

Such has been described as putting another man up on a pedestal, thus becoming a God-Maker, greater than the God you’ve created because you created him. It’s all pathological in any case.

  2. Liberals think this free society just sort of happened, that they can poke and tear at its fabric and things will just go on as before.

Not to get all theological, but I find it interesting that the anti-freedom folks who think free society “just sort of happened”, also tend to be the very same anti-(your)-religion folks who think the Universe, the Earth, and all life on it, “just sort of happened”.

The concept of intelligent design, at any level, is foreign to them. (Unless it’s them doing the designing, of course.)

    • I think there are quite a lot of anti-freedom religious people. And several anti-freedom religions.
Conversely, it would be a mistake to believe that freedom loving people are always religious people. While the percentages might be higher in that group, there are also plenty of agnostic, and even atheist, libertarians.

  3. The trouble with hoping to be on the side with the guns is that there are usually several sides with guns, at least until someone wins the initial conflict. The nice thing about the Rule Of Law, is that it lets us survive those disagreements that would otherwise lead to bloody battles. Any side I would wind up on would have at least some guns, but I sure don’t want that to become an important factor. I think Schlichter understands this. I hope those “Coastal Elites” understand it as well.

    • Nope. I’m pretty sure they don’t understand it at all.

They are Ivory Tower Elites, who think the world is run by human rules rather than the laws of nature. They are ignorant of history, psychology, physics, math, economics, and the principles enshrined in our Declaration of independence and Constitution. They are doomed to fail, but sadly, they are also cursed to take a lot of good people with them.

      • More precisely, they are people who want the world to be run by human rules — to be specific, their human rules as opposed to anyone else’s human rules.

  4. Also; “[Coercives] think they can poke and tear at [society’s] fabric and things will just go on as before.”

That is true of some coercives but far from all. “Fundamental Transformation of America being Obama’s stated goal, he’s not counting on society going on as before. He means for it not to. Same with the Alinsky school, the Cloward and Piven school, and an increasing number of rank-and-file Democrats. In short, they’re communist revolutionaries of one form or another, with the specific intention of seeing to it that society does NOT go on as before.

Strictly speaking, I don’t want America to go on as before either. The difference is that I want to see, for once, America’s promise fulfilled whereas the coercives want to see America’s promise maligned, impugned, erased and forgotten.

Again and again; we are NOT dealing with people who simply fail to understand that what they are doing is counterproductive. Those who lead their movements are dedicated enemies of America and the West. Even without their own words making it clear, which they have, we can prove it many times over by observing their actions over time.

Chicago and DC have very high violent crime rates, they know this very well, and they advocate the very laws and policies which lead to those high murder rates. They love the first amendment until they’re looking at a tea party rally, a conservative charity or a Christian church. They love “Peace” only so long as it means communist and jihadist forces are going unopposed. They believe in a Two State Solution with Israel only so long as one of those two states has sworn to eradicate Israel. They believe in “Choice” only when the choice being discussed is killing the innocent whereas bearing arms to protect the innocent is unacceptable. We could go through such examples all day.

So please, let’s STOP with the perpetual denial– Until we can name the enemy we haven’t begun to fight it. Sure there are the clueless, Useful Idiots. Millions of them. Always have been, always will be. That’s not the point. It never is. Those leading their organizations know exactly what they’re doing and they mean to bring this country down.
