Women have always had the right to bear arms, we have had the right to bear arms before we had the right to vote. I just get mad when I hear people say I can’t carry here, or shouldn’t carry at all or that I need a magazine capacity restriction. Those people make me angry because they put me in danger and my children in danger. If they can hire personal security they can’t tell me how I can protect my children. They are trying to put me and other women at risk.

Thus you explain all the history of politics and war, and most family and interpersonal drama.
We can turn it around and it is equally telling; The more powerful the politicians are, the less need there is for self reliance. That could be either because you’re sucked into a welfare state (captured and trapped by the “safety net”) or because you’ve been killed for advocating self reliance.
The key, I think, to understanding either statement is to include “tolerance”;
The more powerful the politicians are, the less need, AND the less tolerance, there is for self reliance.
The more self reliant individuals are, the less need, and the less tolerance, there is for powerful politicians.
There are of course many ways to break down society into disparate groups, but one would be; the self reliant class and the predator class.
And so it is that when we are weak we invite evil, and when we are evil we promote weakness.
You see those people over there with their own farms, their own houses, their own factories, raising their own families, their abilities to sustain and defend not only themselves but many others besides, in a system of willing cooperation, learning and hope for the future? Those are the people who founded this country. Now they’re considered a threat to the system! Get ’em!
Today, people on “both sides” are calling for a “strong man”, or a “strong woman” (in politics). Just like during the 1930s, we seem to think that a powerful politician can save us. Whiskey and sleeping pills would be a better option than that, so if you’re for Trump or Hillary or Sanders, come on over and allow me to buy you the first round. You’ll pardon me if don’t join you though.
