One of the guns linked to Islamic militants in the Paris attacks that killed 130 people was exported to the United States in 2013, the head of a Serbian arms factory said Thursday.
Milojko Brzakovic of the Zastava arms factory told The Associated Press that the M92 semi-automatic pistol’s serial number matched one his company delivered to an American online arms dealer in May 2013. It was not clear how the gun got back to Europe.
I find this very interesting. Doesn’t this demonstrate the gun, almost for certain, was smuggled from the U.S. to France? That would seem to be a much bigger challenge than smuggling, say, cigarettes from South Carolina to New York City. Or guns from Virginia to New York City. If France can’t keep guns from being smuggled in from the U.S. then why should the gun grabbers believe guns can’t be smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico, or even Eastern Europe?
If there is a market for an existing product there will be a supplier.
It was imported by Century Arms Inc., a well known imported, mfg, and distributor of firearms. As such the gun would have been sold to a dealer or perhaps to a private party WHO WOULD HAVE TO PICK IT UP AT A HOLDER OF AN FFL (AFTER FILLING OUT THE PAPERWORK – A 4473). Guarantee that the batfags already know where it went from Century.
We only have the word from the manufacturer. Unless I hear from ATF saying that the gun came in and went to the books of Century Arms…
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it got “diverted” en route to the US. Doesn’t take much of a rocket scientist to figure out a package from Zastava going to Century Arms most likely has guns in it.

Or it was sold to the government, and then shipped out to our “allies” in Syria.
It was an AK type pistol if I understand correctly. I doubt a government would be buying those. This would seem to be the best market for that. We can only hope it was stolen en route.
The photos I’ve seen show that model with a folding stock, and thus it would be classed in the US as an SBR (or maybe an AOW). Handy for urban fighting, while being easily concealable for your average “freedom fighter”.
As Phelps said below, I’d bet it was bought by an Alphabet Agency specifically for covertly supplying insurgencies that our .gov is supporting.

It’s exactly the argument made by MA fascist politicians who object to saner gun laws in states like NH.
Of course, the obvious counter is: criminals come to MA (or France) because crime is safer there than in states where the good guys have guns, too.
when you compare the homicide rate in the two countries, you might have that argument thrown back at you. Better to sit this one out and see how it develops.
