Quote of the day—M-1

On September 13, 1994 the Democrats passed the most restrictive federal gun control law in US history. On November 8, 1994, the Democrats suffered their second biggest defeat ever. As a result of a 54-seat swing in membership from Democrats to Republicans, the Republican Party gained a majority of seats in the United States House of Representatives for the first time since 1952 and a majority of votes for the first time since 1946. It was also the largest seat gain for the Republican Party since 1946.

In January 2014, Obama and the Democrats led the charge in further restricting our Civil Rights as numerated in the Bill of Rights by trying to pass an even more oppressive gun-control law than in 1994. On November 4, 2014, the elections resulted in the largest Republican majority in the entire country in nearly a century, with 54 seats in the Senate, 247 (56.78%) in the House, 31 governorships (62%), and 68 state legislative chambers. Moreover, Republicans gained their largest majority in the House since 1928, the largest majority in Congress overall since 1928, and the largest majority of state legislatures since 1928.

I pray the Democrats are so stupid to try it again!!!!!!!! Then you will only be able to see the Party named Democrats in the history books.

Comment to Democratic pollsters: Don’t blame gun control for Virginia loss
[There is more than a little exaggeration in the conclusion but I suspect a fair amount of truth too.—Joe]

  1. How about an up or down vote?

I wish to preserve the principles of liberty upon which this country was founded.
    Yes
    No

Even under a unanimous “No” vote it would still require a constitutional amendment, you know, to null and void the constitution.

    We could phrase it the other way around;

I wish to see the coercive power of government used to mold, shape and direct American culture, family, property, business, communications, energy, and financial dealings on the grounds that most people are incapable of making their own decisions.
    Yes
    No

That’s really the one basic question, and nearly everyone on both the “left” and the “right” fails it– Should we be allowed to run our own affairs or should some self-righteous turd in government be telling us what to do on the premise that we’re too dumb to know what’s good for us and we therefore haven’t even the right?

Most people think it’s all complicated, or that it’s about various “issues” requiring the study of statistics and other dumb, irrelevant shit before they’re qualified to answer it, but that belief is in itself defeat– It is to fall for the false premises and distractions. No; there’s only one issue.

    • As Mike Vanderboegh says (and I’m paraphrasing): There are currently two Americas, divided along the ideological question, “Does the government serve the people, or do the people serve the government?”

It is perhaps an oversimplification, but most of us agree the American system of government was carefully crafted to serve and protect the interests and rights of the people. It was NOT created to rule over them and micromanage their day-to-day lives.

Given a simple dichotomous survey (Yes or No, and no “Don’t Know” or “Not Sure” options), I believe you’re correct: people on the Left will choose to have their lives dictated by Big Brother, and nearly all who choose to uphold the Constitution as-written will be from the Right.

(Note that I’m not claiming most of the “Right” will choose to uphold the Constitution; I don’t believe there are that many “purists” remaining, although I hope I’m wrong. I merely believe that nearly all who vote that way will come from the Right.)

      • My use of scare quotes for “right” and “left” comes from the fact that the right-left model is false. It comes from Europe over 100 years ago, in which the “Right” were the Marxist Fascists, and the “Left” were the Marxist communists.

It’s a false choice. The Fascists fought the communists, who fought the Nazis, who fought FDR, in the same way that one gang of street thugs fights against another. It’s not a choice of WHETHER there will be tyranny but of WHO will be leading it.

So it is between Democrats and Republicans in America right now, except for the fact that they have formed an alliance. They keep us divided and distracted while they share in the booty.

  2. The Demonrats have come to a conclusion, one that appears to be valid based on recent events. They don’t need to or care if they control congress. They need only have enough votes to keep a veto from being overridden etc. As long as they have the White House they can use the ‘I have a pen and a phone’ method of running things the way they wish knowing that they can keep a GOP
congress from derailing a criminal POTUS…which is EXACTLY what they have been doing.

The computerized voting system in America is woefully inadequate and open to corruption, coercion and cheating….both technically by hacking and by BUYING
select people inside the companies that make and run these machines. If you
can control key precincts in swing states you can guarantee that YOUR candidate will win no matter what the real vote might be. And THAT is the plan
the Communists masquerading as demonrats are doing. When your candidate wins MORE than 100% of the votes in a number of precincts……a statistical impossibility…..that’s pretty good evidence the system has been compromised.
